Just took all the family to Warbreck Plantation Restaurant for lunch. 10 of us had a lovely meal. Service and staff excellent.

We haven't been here for ages, and used to like the place. It does look nice and clean, and the waiting on staff are polite enough, however, the overall experience was so bad that it took these small positives down to 1 star. We ordered 3 jacket potatoes, a couple of paninis and a kids meal. The cost of the meals were quite a lot more than average, but did sound nice. About 10 minutes later, the waitress came back to inform us that they had ran out of jacket potatoes (this was surprising as it was before 2pm). We ordered a couple of different things, including a soup and a different panini. Once again, 10 minutes later, the waitress returned to say the panini's were pre-made and the one we wanted could not be made up, one of the soups had run out also. We cancelled the order and just left the kids meal and a single panini for the older child with us. Around 15 minutes later, the kids meal came, but no panini. No one came to check, but we called over a waitress who went to check on the missing meal. They had mistakenly cancelled all of the meals (a genuine mistake) so she said one will be out very shortly. We waited another 15 minutes at which point our youngest child had finished his meal but there was still no panini, and food was still coming out for other guests. After checking one final time to no avail, we ended up leaving, even though we'd paid for the panini. In fairness to the restaurant, they did give us some free drinks, but considering we'd already paid for an overpriced panini that we never got, we were very short changed.Whilst this series of events may have been a one off. A relatively large restaurant like this needs their waiting on staff to know what meals are available before customers order, they need to stock more items, they need to be able to make adjustments to meals on their menu or be able to make things up fresh if they run out of food, particularly because the food is on the expensive side and they need to check that their customers have everything they need. It felt like a simple case of putting profits before experience and when that happens, people will stop coming.

Had lunch here pre COVID and the food was really good however went a couple of weeks ago and we were bitterly disappointed. The service and the staff were excellent I have to say, really friendly and polite. I ordered the roast beef dish and asked if the sauce came separately which I was told it would come in a small jug. It didn't. The whole dish was swimming in a branch sauce which was way too sweet and just didn't compliment the beef at all. The Yorkshire pudding was filled with red cabbage or something which want nice at all and the beef was overcooked. My wife ordered chicken and pesto but what arrived looked more like a chicken Bolognese and didn't taste great at all. Really feels like they're trying too hard to make the food restaurant quality rather than focusing on just delivering really good, tasty, simple dishes. Won't be back.

I used to love having lunch here with my friends but since the second lock down it's changed. I suspect there's a different chef because the food is no where near as good. There's less choice, especially for vegetarians, and the prices have increased considerably. I've been three times since it reopened, in the hope there had been an improvement. Sadly I will not be going again.

Arranged an afternoon tea for my mum's birthday here today and Ross the manager catered to our specifications. The food was excellent, staff were brilliant. I would highly reccomend. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

The never ending redevelopment goes on. There was no easy path from the car park to the entrance. There also where no signs indicating the safe route. Internally it has become a maze as a disabled person this is very off putting. The young man who served us in the restaurant was wonderful and the food was good. We have been regular visitors for many years but I fear this will be our last visit.

My friend and I were there at 11.45 and she is not in the best of health and not eating very much. We looked at the litebite menu which gave the impression that there were various 'flavours' of sandwiches. However, we were told that there was only tuna/mayonnaise. She wanted a prawn sandwich which was refused so I said that there is prawn cocktail on the menu so can't that be put on a sandwich. The answer was that it's a set menu! She chose the prawn cocktail which was just lettuce leaves with prawns in sauce on top ... no bread which is normally served with a prawn cocktail. I chose the cheese/tomato tart, which was very small with loads of lettuce leaves on top which were drowned in oil, making the tartlet greasy and soggy. We ordered deserts which took 40 minutes to arrive. We asked for custard, which was very watery and lumpy and there was no toffee sauce on my sticky toffee pudding. It was just a piece of dry cake. We have been going here for years, even to the small cafe they had during the alterations, but sadly, won't be returning.

Had a pleasant surprise was taking Mum to hospital for a check up and thought I would take her for lunch any as the warbreck garden centre was near I thought we could go there what a nice surprise when we arrived as it's been referbished and got a new chef and menu and is table service only which is nice. The food was excellent and at a reasonable price. It was so good Mum wants to have here 90th birthday there next year. If you haven't been I recommend you do so I don't think you will be disappointed.

Fabulous food. Really great after the new update. Thank god they've moved away from limp sandwiches, paninis, and the usual garden centre snackery. The food is restaurant a la carte standard, very very tasty. Been about 6 times now. Trying to work our way through the lush food. The update to the decor is relaxing and comfy. The head chef is very attentive and easy to talk to.Looking forward to the Christmas menu now.Well done Warbreck for making the garden centre experience a Million times better.
