Miners Peg Skelmersdale in West Lancashire

Nice food, decent prices and portion sizes. Three stars only because the reserved tables were spotless. Our tables were sticky, no condiments or menu's.

Where to begin?I'm embarrassed that I brought my friend here, for a "local" pub this is genuinely shameful. From seeing raw meat being brought out at the carvery, to the menu items being "warm" and the pub itself being in a state of disrepair... Just avoid this place.There's no uniforms on most of the staff, who just looked at you at the bar, no greeting. There's no table numbers either, so don't go in when you're busy.Oh and there's no drinks menus at the tables either, so you just have to guess what you're going to pay at the bar, which is one guest today found out, it was £7.50 for a gin and lemonade.The food doesn't impress. Steak was chewy, burger was mushy in the middle, egg was dripping with oil... It just wasn't nice.The place isn't kept to, well, any standards. They still have the bunting up from the queen's jubilee which was about a month ago.

Staff were friendly but the place was dirty. We were told to sit wherever we like however all the tables were dirty with leftovers, crumbs and food stuck to the menus.Food was brought to us BEFORE any cutlery however the food itself was tasty.We were sat at our table talking for almost an hour after finishing eating, and nobody cleared our plates. Sad to say but there's no competition in Skem when it comes to places that serve food.

Whilst the staff were very welcoming, the food was very poor, we ordered a chicken burger which was hot, but the garlic bread with cheese was soggy. The onion rings, breaded mushrooms and Brie dips were barely warm. Hugely disappointed ☹️

Easy booking online, staff were really friendly, my daughter asked them to put cake behind bar for my birthday, and they were so helpful they came out at the end of meal singing happy birthday. The food took a little while, but was perfect when it came out, best meal out I have had in a long time. Highly recommended and already passed our feedback to friends who are trying next week!

I was welcomed by a staff member called Tom he made us feel very comfortable and at ease. All three of us had a carvery and could not find any fault with it as it was delicious. The price was very reasonable too. The restaurant is very clean and tidy. All the staff are very polite and the person who served us the carvery was very nice. You should be proud to have those members of staff working for your company.

When we arrived and said we have booking they said they can't see any booking in a system. Then we ordered and waited 1,5 hour for our food to been served. When we asked something (example napkins, sauce, extra spoon ) they said just a second and they went and absolutely forget about us. We never going back!!! Thanks

I was very disappointed at the miners peg this evening..rubbish on floor next to our tableI had a carvery. The beef was like rubber couldn't cut with knife..the veg was sloppy sat in greaseCauliflower was hard.. potatoes were hard. My daughter got a lemon cheesecake..was still frozen. Not impressed.. my children had took me for a mothers day meal.. sorry but hardly eat anything..I'm a cook ..I'd cooked a Sunday dinner today for our residents were I work........it was delicious cooked to perfection....... 1 unhappy customer won't be going there again... miners peg.

Went here today for lunch with my Mum. Great location near the Concourse Shopping Centre, lovely food (I had the scampi and chips and so did my Mum) and friendly and professional staff.However, I originally opted for the gammon steak but there was no gammon. When my scampi arrived, there was bread but no butter (my Mum didn't get bread with her meal at all) along with no tartare sauce for either scampi dish.Apart from that, we had a good experience and would recommend the scampi!

I had lunch today 24th July although the food had a nice appearance the fish I had wasn't the best. It wasn't awful but half way through eating my fish it got very stringy wasn't pleasant to eat. Might just of been a bad piece of fish. Apart from that the staff was very nice and the surroundings are good. Overall all I'd give this place 6 out of 10
