Peacock Chinese Restaurant Ormskirk in West Lancashire

I give the Peacock 5 stars for a number of reasons and depite there being no disabled access ( the restaurant being located on the 1st floor). That, however, is the only negative. Staff are friendly, polite and attentive. The decor is stunning and the restaurant is immaculately clean. The menu is extensive with 3 'banquet' options and a large choice of individual starters, main meals and sides. A dessert menu is also available. The food is beautifully presented and tastes amazing. The atmosphere is very good indeed with a casual dress code and it is very family friendly. Prices are reasonable too with takeaway also an option, a discount is given on food for takeaway. A must visit if you enjoy quality Chinese food in a warm and welcome atmosphere.

5 people smoking, IN THE RESTAURANT!!! Even the manager, absolutely appalling, should have taken further action as even a waitress apologised for their behaviour (despite us not mentioning beforehand), couldn’t taste any of the food as none of the windows were open either. I don’t usually write bad reviews however this one certainly needs to be justified.

Been a regular at the peacock for a number of years,, has the classic Chinese restaurant decor and feel to the place , few big banquet tables and 4 and 2 seaters, apart from the stairs as the restaurant is on 1st floor it is perfect, unfortunately my father struggles to make the stairs and unfortunately can not go anymore, the food is a great selection on offer many starters to choose from, the salt and pepper King prawn are huge and come crispy in the shell but my favourite is the squid and steak roll in black pepper sauce, not cheap but good quality and always leave fully satisfied, look forward to my next visitLee pennington

Your response to Gemma Smiths review I cannot believe. there was 10 people on our table 7 banquets were ordered 2 people got ordinary meal and one got nuggets and chips .as for the cake that was bought by my sister in law not free off yourselves. One member of staff was very rude. young man that served drinks was lovely. It was all very rushed, considering the amount of money that got spent there should have been better service

Amazing the food was fantastic service excellent could not fault anything they even do takeaway so I'll be having some of that to 👍

We booked for large party of 24 which they said they could accommodate. When we arrived we was split up on three different tables. The restaurant was packed and really hot, Most of the party ordered banquets, everybody was left hungry as the portion sizes was reduced, complete scam. When I asked for the order to be separate, the waitress snapped back at me and told me this couldn't be done. I would never recommend a trip here. It was a rip off and a waste of money. With Rude staff.

Been recommended by locals. Loved the place and the staff were very nice along with the other patrons.Group of lads on tables behind us who were all behaving themselves as well as teenagers when we arrived in waiting area.All very respectful to all and everybody seemed to enjoy the place.Food was lovely and service was good. Good value also.

Bones left in food and not so much as an apology. We where not offered the fruit and ice cream at the end of our banquet we left without it. Kept waiting for far too long to order drinks or food whilst watching takeaways flying out of the door. Regular faces walked in after us and where tucking into their food before we had even been able to order. The wall directly next to my seat had old stains that had not been cleaned and the grease on the food was disgusting. That is not a sauce on the picture just grease. Chicken satay was very salty. Wouldn’t recommend. Good Customer service skills might have saved the day but unfortunately I feel robbed of £80

First time visit food was fabulous . Thought the staff could of been more helpful !! but on the whole the place is very nice
