Stanley Gate in West Lancashire

Visited the Stanley Gate for a lunchtime meal with colleagues. Clean and tidy place with a lovely little atmosphere, quite cosy. Facilities were great, lots of essentials available for use in the ladies which was a nice touch.Service was friendly and food was lovely.Will be returning, probably with family.

On a recent visit to the Stanley Gate for my husbands 60th we were very disappointed with the food. My gammon was overdone + little dry, my husbands steak was quite disappointing, food overall was a bit sad to say the least. Drinks quite highly priced. However the service was great due to a very lovely + polite lady, I think her name was June, she was so helpful and such a delight to speak to.

Visited for the first time in a long while (covid) but so glad to be back. This is a lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. The menu is varied and the food is lovely.Will definitely be back again soon x

Nice atmosphere, service mostly good but felt abandoned towards the latter part. Had to get up and chase down wait staff for dessert menus and later the bill. Food OK but Hunters chicken horrendous, tough and dry breasts. Everything else really good.

Had a great meal - a sharing platter and a couple of side orders. Really tasty food served by Shannon a really happy lady who took our order and served our food. Going back for sure.

We must have came on an off-day as it's usually nice, but it was my dad's 60th meal so we were sad to wait 50 mins for our overcooked, hard meals. It wasn't even that busy. Felt sorry for the nice young staff waiting on who had to bear the grunt of everybody's annoyance.

Went to Burns Night special, food was great and each course served at a good pace. Menu was good value for money.

Ate here on Sunday 31st October. Was absolutely delicious. Had the belly pork with the black pudding. Needed to order potatoes but that was no problem. James and all the staff were amazing - friendly, efficient and professional. Will definitely be back.
