The Farmers Arms in West Lancashire

Visited today for the first time under new management. WOW my new favourite place -will definitely be back. It has been beautifully refurbished, the ambience and vibe is lovely, staff amazing and food even better. Top marks to the chef Marc. We visited for my dad's birthday lunch and he had the best day. He is a tough customer and said it was the best soup he had ever had and the fish and chips were second to none. We will definitely be back , probably by the weekend it was that amazing. Thank you for a lovely day.

Lovely food and refurbished decor but terrible service and staff attitude. Waited an age to order and then another age for the food to arrive. The side order of slaw arrived after the rest of the food and only after asking but was hardly worth waiting for as it was so small! Equally the half pints of diet Coke we had were billed as 16oz despite being in small glasses! The worst part was that the staff didn't seem to be at all bothered when mentioning this on paying the bill. In short, a lovely place with great food let down by staff.

Nice layout, good amount of seating inside and out. Good beers, unfortunately not many 0% but I guess there's not much call for it. Haven't tried the food but will be back to do so. Nice staff and the views are pretty good too.

There were plenty of staff on duty and the service was good. We all enjoyed our meals. I ordered a pizza which I was good. Food was only available if sitting inside. Overall I'd recommend a visit.

Had a great meal last night. Food was terrific. Food hot, plates hot. What more could I ask for. Staff were absolutely brilliant all night. Had a great experience. Keep up the good work guys and girls.

Absolutely the worst meal I have ever had. 2 of us ordered fillet steak and after waiting for 40 minutes and asking if our order had been forgotten the food arrived. The fillets were the smallest and thinnest I have ever seen and cold we would have had more meat on a burger, restaurant prices for fast food springs to mind .on the other hand the other 2 much cheaper meals were fine.

Food was awful, portion of "fresh chips" as they're called on the menu we're more like day old reheated chips, sirloin steak dinner were the fries were the best part, sharer platter of bread and oil was barely enough for 1 and the starter was £8 for pretty much a very large plate of lettuce leaves with a slither of goats cheese. Also took 3 requests and nearly half hr for a pint of bitter to arrive, took over half hour for the food to arrive too. We were really really disappointed, can't even blame teething problems as it's been open 2 weeks! The 1 star is purely for the friendly waitresses who were clearly mortified with what was being served and they couldn't apologise enough, we got the impression we weren't the only ones disappointed.

The Farmers Arms has recently reopened after refurbishment. We thought we would give it a try as the menu looked amazing. They have done a really good job of upgrading the decor and the eating area looks fresh and clean. The food itself is outstanding and I do think we will be back to sample other items off the extensive menu.

One of my favourite pubs in the area. Good food and good selection of beers.

Had an extremely good meal here this evening! Every part of the evening was perfect. Really friendly & attentive staff to take your order and check if you need anything, the food was truly superb - we had the greenlip mussels, garlic bread w/cheese, steak & ale pie and ham & mushroom pizza. Would highly recommend! Nice views of the canal too - especially if it was nicer weather 👍
