I recommended the market cross because the atmospheres is great and relaxed. Great classic pub style that is becoming rare. Staff are friendly kelly served our drinks quickly and efficiently keeping a smile while doing her job. Other staff remember kept checking on us to make sure we were well looked after great hospitality shown

Very warm and welcoming. Food was great, tasty and plenty of it. Was a little under staffed for a lunchtime (only 1 member of staff to run bar and kitchen orders). Will definitely be back.

Menu changed since I last visited. It was lunch time and there seemed to be a wait for drinks however when our food order was taken the food was cooked quickly enough and excellent. The portion was more than we expected. We were informed straight away that there maybe a possible wait as we had all ordered fish finger sandwiches. The wait wasn't too long and the food made up for it.

Lovely pub, however very rude lady with very bad customer service skills. It was just before 5pm on Sat and the pub had stop serving food?? Anyway was just about to ask if they would mind us getting a subway and bring it in however the lady was very abrupt and rude before me even asking the question and when I finally managed to ask the question was again very abrupt and rude. Then in a pathetic so called apology told me abruptly "she was sorry if I thought she was rude but she was rushed off her feet!!" Well to the lady I really hope ur extra quiet so your not rushed off your feet to make you a nice polite person or personally I don't think your in the right job customer service is most definitely not for you.

Used to be great here 5+ years ago.Food looks alright though haven't tried since the new managers recently.. Seems a bit lost these days with its atmosphere. A tad morbid.

The bar staff here are so welcoming and can't be faulted at all! The place itself and the theme they're going for is all a bit dated now though and doesn't seem to attract many punters, which makes it feel like a place to call in to for one, and then move on. It doesn't have much atmosphere.

Good pub food.Excellent prices. Lunch offers especially. Proper ice cream which doesn't taste like powder or freezer burn. Staff friendly . Far cleaner than a certain chain around corner tonight!

Good food and drink with prices reflecting the amount of for given (Just enough for lunch)6. The barman was nice and friendly ...only issue is, the pub was chilly and on a cold day it would have been nice to walk into the warmth of what is a great pub

Came in here with a business associate for a drink earlier in the week and it is best described as a very basic chain pub. The venue lacked any atmosphere and had a feel like it was closing down? Despite not being busy it took a while to get served, which was odd. They really need to work on being more upbeat and engaging with customers.

Only one member of staff and the the geezer on his own was rushed off his feet. But, he was friendly and provided a great service and needs a rise! Would visit again. Had food previous visit and was pretty good for standard pub fare...
