Applewood Farm in Wigan

Came for dinner today and would like to say how much the place has improved. Carvery was amazing and no hard vegetables. Staff were friendly and very helpful I have a dairy allergy and Mandy and Dan were amazing with their knowledge definitely will be returning thanks

Came here for a Sunday carvery today and it was absolutely delicious and looked amazing! The woman behind the carvery who sliced the meat was so friendly and we throughly enjoyed everything about our visit! Massive thumbs up will absolutely return again!

I don't usually leave reviews but overall 3 stars simply because the carvery was old and meat (beef) chewy! Asked if I wanted pigs in blankets and was not mentioned it was an extra charged! I love my food piping hot so wasn't enjoyable! Deserts are absolutely incredible though! Generous portions. Child friendly with a play area which was perfect for kids!

We entered this evening to a very busy restaurant, it was quite hectic but we sat ourselves down and ventured to the bar. There was a queue and clearly people thinking by standing right at the end they could jump this but Harvey served us quickly and he was lovely! Trying his best to serve us all in order when there wasn’t even a clear queue and he was on his own, the food was lovely and so was Harvey…

We received a lovely warm welcome wish I had taken the girl's name as she was very pleasant.I was also very happy to see another member of staff check how our order for food was.What I would say is it appeared short staffed as the wait to place an order for food and drink took longer than I expected.The thing that let it down massively for me was when I went to use the toilet facilities omg they was an absolute disgrace!I recommend they are checked a lot more regularly.

Great food and great service, I just love this place.The kids disco on Fridays is a must, my little lad looks forward to it every week and loves every moment.Mandy the DJ has a natural talent with the kids and puts on an outstanding performance.Well done to everyone at applewood for such a great set up.

I just want to say how professional your staff are, we came in this evening for a visit and were waiting in the carvery queue when a disgruntled lady started behaving horribly to a young member of staff, he handled it perfectly as did the manageress and the chef that came out too. I didn’t catch anyones name but having been there I don’t see how either one of you was rude at all. Our service and food this evening was amazing and the service that we received was impeccable, thank you.

Beautiful food and even better service from Harvey, he seated us and served us very swiftly. He even made time to chat to us and ask if all was ok as we tucked into our food. Stellar service from the young man who seemed to be dealing with and sorting everything himself perfectly.

Impeccable service here today for my mothers birthday from Harvey, the man of the hour, the one that was doing everything. He seated us somewhere out of the way as we didn’t want to be near the quiz but he made sure we weren’t near the children. Upon ordering at the bar Harvey took our order, he then brought our food out and even made sure everything was ok with it for us, he took our desert order and brought them over too. We didn’t have a dirty plate on the table at all as he swooped in and made sure we weren’t in a mess, drinks were topped up and he was an angel. True asset to the company! We’ll be back!

Christmas Day lunch 2021.Table 34First time eating at this venue on Christmas day, the staff were very pleasant and hospitable.The food was very nice, some of my party had eyes larger than their stomach could accommodate. 😃Everyone at the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their time there.Thank you to the staff for providing an enjoyable time at Christmas.
