Called in on my way past on a bike ride.... just wanted a snack and a pint. Excellent burger and chips and a lovely cold lager. Great price and good quality food. I'll be back, cheers

I came hear on my wedding day for a family meal before we went to our evening venue in December 2021, was very dissapointed. Frozen basic food and didn't have half the stuff what was on the menu. Staff was ignorant and rude, they was moving tables and balloons away before we had even finished eating as they had another party on, just completely rude, won't be going their again. I actually had to walk out of the premises due to feeling pushed out by management, I had to stand outside for 20 minutes until we could go to our venue, with two young kids on a busy main road in my wedding dress. Not impressed.P. S to add onto that, I definately was not informed of another party, otherwise I wouldnt have gone there to start with. No extra decorations was put up at all, these was already in place for christmas am very dissapointed at your reply. Staff was rude and using bad language behind the bar, that's not the way I speak in front of young children but you might be different. We was already crammed in like sardines, so for you to suggest for us to sit somewhere else with my wedding dress on? Where was I supposed to fit? in the loos with all 30+ guests and 2 children.I will definately not be attending again until its under new management.

Food was really nice, lovely atmosphere I have drove past many times went in last night with family for a meal will definitely be going again

Lovely pub, great service. The Balcarres hosted our wake and they couldn't have done anymore, really appreciated.staff were lovely and did a great job to meet our needs make it a great event.

Lovely little pub, came here with my sister today. Used to come a lot, pre covid, and enjoyed myself today. Its your typical pub grub, no frills, just home cooked , and quite decent sized potions. Staff friendly and welcoming. Nice, especially if you've just been for a walk around Haigh Hall.

Really nice cosy pub had an excellent pint of Hobgoblin Gold in front of a log fire. Landlord was really friendly too and came to chat.

Staff are extremely polite, cheerful and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Food was lovely. Toilets clean and well equipped. Comfortable seating with a choice of benches or individual seats. Dogs welcome and water bowls provided. They also have a dog food and drinks menu. Only slight niggle was skimmed milk served with pot of tea and only in a tiny jug so had to ask for more. Would have preferred semi skimmed but only my personal taste so I haven't reduced the rating. Will definitely be going back.
