8 of us had the Festive Menu last night and every one of us really enjoyed it. I had the pate to start with, really tasty and plentiful.Others had soup or prawn cocktail and no complaints from anybody ... Turkey was cooked just right, not at all dry , pigs in blankets maybe not so much, a tad over cooked and crispy for me but didn't spoil the meal (and I still ate them).... And the desserts, well.... the Xmas pudding was delicious, the others said the cheesecake was very nice and only one said the chocolate orange cake wasn't great but it couldn't have been that bad because somebody else finished it off 😀 I still got serious food envy though when I saw the cheese and biscuits go out to another table ,it looked amazing so next time I go back that's what I will be having. The table was set out with festive cutlery holders and crackers for everyone. It's a nice, cozy, homely place , the owners are very friendly and genuinely want to get everything right.

Bland and got a large and a small roast dinner, No size difference still one piece of beef that had been warmed up. Mash hard and lumpy, roast potatoes all warmed up and have never seen a oven they were disgusting hard and tasteless . Yorkshire puddings was like rubber, It was just vile. Best thing about the dish was the carrots... Never again. I wasn't the only one there was 4 on our table having the same meal I left most of mine we all agreed on the above. Save your money worst roast dinner we have ever had. And we eat out very often .

Great food and great atmosphere. All home made and i had the steak pie from the skinny menu. Fantastic place and staff super friendly, the chief took pride in his home made pie for the ploughmans and he had every right too. All food here is home made and amazing. Love the fact that this is a propper traditional pub.
