Went for Sunday lunch booked a table was asked to sit in a area which was the area for people with Dogs. Like dogs but didn't want my Sunday lunch with them. Was not asked if I was okay with this area but they did offer us another table 16 which was fine. We ordered soup and Sunday lunch. We then waited for 35 minutes for the soup. Eventually after asking it turned up was nice but like warm probably been waiting for service. Main course was nice but service needs some attention in my opinion. ThanksThank you for your response but I feel my review was fair. I made the booking on line at 11.50 hrs and confirmed by phone 12-10 pm 3 hrs before there was no mention you were fitting me in.?? I have been to resturants all over the world and never had to ask for a table away from Dogs. I take it you have CCTV in the pub check it you will see we did have to wait 35 minutes for my soup. Probably made ready in the kitchen but wasn't delivered to the table hence why the soup was luke warm.

We stopped off here as it was recommended by a local, so I expected it would be good. Always better to ask the locals! Waitress staff ie the two Lauren's and Beth were so efficient and friendly. Food was plentiful, I chose the salt and pepper chicken burger, my wife the oriental burger. Nice "proper chips" as it said on the menu. Very busy pub which is a good sign! Will call again.A fine hostelry, hand pumped ales and traditional pub feel.

Good food ,good staff. Not a good selection of beer, only ,2 pale ales on draught. Not a good selection of bottled beer. If you like s darker beer you are out of luck. It can't cost much to have some Hobgoblin or old peculiar in bottles for sale. Still landlords always know better ( joke).

Booked a table for 6 of us over the Web which was handled well by Ian.On arriving we were informed that 4-5 things on the food menu were unavailable. Not a huge menu so this was significant. Had to order at the bar, which for the food prices I thought was a bit poor - at Β£17 for each main I would expect somebody to take our order at the table. The head bar person was a little rude when I enquired about ordering food, telling me I had to go to a different part if the bar to get served - that part was just for staff. Would have been easier to understand if it was busy. When ordering, yet more food was now unavailable so I had to go back to the table to refresh orders.Fortunately the food, once it arrived, was very good. Not a huge beer selection but that was also nice.Nice pub let down by average service.

Ate here a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty basic. The starter was good. Vegetable spring rolls. The main was an oriental burger which was a bit of a let down. The beer was decent though..
