Marsh Green Fish & Chip Shop in Wigan

We have recently set up a four person panel to review our local chippies. Unfortunately, despite being a recommendation by a local lad, your "establishment", fell very short of our (already very low) expectations. The Warburtons 6 pack barms were insufficient for the size of chip and were very structurally unstable to hold, one of my colleagues resorted to eating it with a knife and fork. Furthermore, the chips were so dry, one of my ex-serviceman colleagues began getting flashbacks from the Gulf War. His service training would have come in handy in these parts as I felt I could have been shanked at any given moment.

The chips are warm ups not very appealing rock hard and dark in colour be a lot nicer if they was fresh cooked

Just had a delivery from here. Thought I'd treat myself since I've not had fish and chips for ages. Order was very wrong, I hate peas and had peas all over my food and the drinks were wrong. If you don't have the stuff that customers ordered write a note, otherwise I'm just going to assume that you can't read. I'm disappointed with this today.

I had the best fish and chips from Marsh Green today. The fish melted in my mouth and the chips were perfectly cooked and I will definitely go back. I highly recommend Marsh Green to everyone.

Staying local whilst working away, found as passing by and turned out to be great find. Friendly chatty and welcoming service. Food was great, easily one of the best chippy I've been to. Will definitely visit again next time in the area.

First time I've been to this chippy and I must say it was absolutely delicious 😋😋. Had no cod so don't usually like haddock but it was amazing. Fish, peas, gravy and curry went down a treat. Definitely a 10/10. The guy was so polite and friendly aswell, will definitely be going back. I'm use to my usual chippy near me and it was on par with that 👌👌xx

This chippy is horrific. For 1 fish, 2 portions of chips and mushy peas it cost £9.80. The chips looked burnt and didn't smell very pleasant, so much so I didn't eat mine. My son was starving so ate his fish, but within an hour ended up on the toilet, with what we can only imagine was food poisoning.Do yourself a favour and give this chippy a swerve!
