Fantastic chippy with a varied menu. Great salt n pepper chicken. Big portions, freshly cooked. Very friendly staff, best local chippy, we won't go anywhere else. 5 stars.

Easily the best chippy in Leigh. Mr Rowlie and his staff are very friendly and chatty. Food is delicious and always perfectly cooked. Only place outside Oldham I've been able to get a rag pudding!!

Me and a colleague,were on a day trip,with a young person who we look after,we stopped off the motorway and asked the y.p what they would like for dinner,CHIPPY PLEASE.So we all agreed,that's what we would have.I googled the area for a takeaway service,and Rowlies had the best and most reviews.The service was quick and very friendly! we will be going back there,fresh cod in his own made batter and chips that are crispy,not soggy.Its definitely by far the best chippy I have ever been to.Best wishesRowlies

This is the best chippy I have ever been to. Everything is cooked from fresh and the food is fantastic. What makes this chippy great is not just the fab food but the lovely, warm friendly service. No matter when you visit, the owners and their staff are always genuinely happy to see you and even if it's your first time visiting Rowlies you will be made to feel very welcome. They make you feel like your part of the family and always remember your name which I think is so lovely. If you havent been to Rowlies yet then you are missing out. Trust me you wont be disappointed, it's a cracking chippy and it's always spotlessly clean.To the owners and their staff, dont change a thing, you are all fantastic

I live in Cheshire and finding a good, traditional "chippy" is very hard, but this is just the ticket. The owner is extremely kind and enthusiastic – and that is just the beginning.The fish is exceptional. The cod is fresh, and the batter is light, not too heavy.The chips are well seasoned and taste delightful.I definitely will visit again – and thanks for setting the standard for a good fish and chip shop.

I thought Green Lane chippy would never be topped in the area but I was wrong.First time of trying Rowlies which was open in difficult circumstances taking mostly telephone bookings.The fish was beautiful with a light batter. The chips were crispy with a soft centre and most of all not stuck to a piece of grease proof paper and soggy.I love the box they served the chips and fish in. Kept everything nice and warm until I got home.The staff were friendly and chatty.Definitely be back, first class.
