Absolutely Beautiful. Lovely food Excellent attentive staff. From the welcome at the door from a Lovely guy(? One of the owners?) Best meal we have had in ages. Not been here for years till the other week but so many friends had recommended it and it's a shame I cant give more than 5 stars!! Highly Highly recommended!!

Not been here for years so was amazed at the transformation. Real good layout and atmosphere. Should be particularly good in summer when full advantage can be made of the huge beer garden

A friend had organised for a group of us to go for afternoon tea. When we arrived we were surprised by the decor of the place, but everywhere was clean and tidy. There is a large outdoor seating area at the back which we unfortunately couldn't take advantage of because of the weather. For the afternoon tea there is a choice of traditional or gin! Both are very reasonably priced. The food came served on boards for either two or one. I felt the choice of sandwiches was limited compared to other afternoon teas that I have had with the normal one having chicken and lettuce and egg mayo, the vegetarian option was cheese instead of the chicken. However with the price being lower than other places this was to be expected. There was also a sausage roll, chicken strips and a small quiche. The cakes where lovely, the traditional scone was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and we also had a lovely chewy chocolate brownie and a slice of Malteser cheesecake.

Walked quite a way across Wigan especially for the cask ales and the beer garden, having checked opening time 11am. Arrived at 11.30, doors closed so called them. "We only open at 12"Update your online details.

Came to the royal oak on 05/03/22 with 11 friends for afternoon tea. The food was amazing and so fresh! The value for money at £11.95 each was great! Would definitely return again. Staff were very pleasant and helpful!! 😃

We came to The Royal Oak for afternoon tea with a group of friends. The food was amazing and definitely not over priced for what we had. It was £10 per person with a coffee or £15 per person with an alcoholic drink. The food was all freshly prepared and came out on wooden pizza paddle boards. We will be calling back again for this. The staff where nice to talk to and nothing was too much trouble. The venue itself is clean, tidy, very well decorated and looked after. Thank you for a great afternoon with our friends

Not been in here for many years. However the inside of the pub is very decorative. They have an excellent outside area with plenty of space and lots of heating. Overall this is a great pub with lots of unique little features. The beer is not bad either!
