The food here is really decent especially for the prices which I find pretty reasonable. The cocktails are pretty good too, can’t really complain for £8.50.The staff aren’t the most attentive so don’t be surprised if you end up waiting a while for someone to take your order and give you the bill.I always recommend this place for brunch as a hangover cure but they’ve recently started enforcing a pretty strict dress code even in the mornings which I find slightly pretentious considering it’s literally a brunch spot in the northern quarter but to each their own.

As an anniversary celebration we visited on Saturday evening. We all ordered the porterhouse steaks with the usual trimmings of fries and each of us ordered a peppercorn sauce. Steaks were a little overdone based on our requested types but the strangest thing was the peppercorn sauce. We all received a small/cute style pan with warm cream in it. The cream was just that, nothing more. I asked the nice waitress politely if a mistake had been made and she said she would ask chef. I was told that recently they had received observations that their pepper sauce was too peppery? As a consequence they have adjusted the sauce to support this observation. We honestly had warm unseasoned cream and nothing else. There was a family two tables up from us making the exact same observation and getting an equally staggering response to. In summary they were nice surroundings, with decent staff but the meal, for which was the reason we attended, was poor and therefore will not return. A real shame given it was such a minor thing the chef could have made right in two minutes.

We went here for a late Sunday lunch and can honestly say that it is one of the best roast lunches we’ve ever had. The quality and quantity of food was exceptional. The service was so lovely, warm and real, that it was a pleasure from start to finish. Also they are SUPER dog friendly too, which isn’t shouted about enough. We brought our 2 dogs with us and they shared a little of the roast beef and veggies with us. We and they were made to feel properly welcome, not just token like some ‘dog friendly’ places can be.We’ve had drinks here before and loved the atmosphere, but we’d never eaten here. But we will most definitely be doing so again, cannot fault any of the experience.Thank you everyone for a great afternoon.

Good food, great staff, nice ambience :) Would definitely go again!

Great spot for an early morning recovery breakfast after the night before. The cappuccino is superb and the vegetarian breakfast is generously filling. The hash brown was a particular favourite. I'm not sure the grilled falafel works without a steak knife but very tasty. Laid back venue.

Had Superb ( using superb for the first time) branch one Korean Fried Kitchen and Mushroom hash brown with scrambled eggs and drinks. Every thing was perfect the food tasted fantastic and so nicely prepared seasoning, spice, temperature and ingredients The place is divided into a bar on one side and eating place on the other side. You can go there to eat or just drink. They have a very good selection of drink. Wine 🍷 beer 🍻 and cocktails 🍹. They have very friendly nice staff the make you feel comfortable and enjoy your food and drink.

We had a wonderful afternoon in The Smithfield Social last Wednesday - sadly I didn’t get any pics of the food but took the best picture I’ve ever taken of a drink. We ordered small plates and everything was delicious. Service was wonderful and the drinks flowed.

Great place to stop for some brunch and coffee. I had the smashed 🥑 with two poached eggs 🥚 on sourdough with a zingy dressing plus a americano ☕ for less than £10 while dining alfresco enjoying the sunshine ☀
