The Olde Boathouse Inn in Wigan

First time dining at The Boathouse.... And all I can say is Wow!!! The food was absolutely fantastic, I can't wait to go back again. All the staff are very polite and pleasant, really enjoyed being sat by the canal in the sun. Great atmosphere.

Love the food here. One of my favourite places. Great food, great atmosphere and brilliant on a nice sunny day next to the canal too. I'll be back.

Went for a night out as they advertised they had live music.On arrival our table wasn't ready and staff parked us at the bar, then promptly forgot about us. We had to ask, and the person delegated to seat us didn't. The supervisor picked us up.We had to seek out staff when we wanted to order and at one point I doubled up on my wine order to save having to find a member of staff later down the line.I ordered a 12oz rump steak medium rare.Frankly, it would have served better used as a sole for my shoe as it was tough as old nails. Normally I would send it back but as it had taken so long to order and then for the food to be served I didn't.The liveusic was provided by a female singer. Her song choices weren't good as the songs really didn't suit her voice, causing her to reach for notes she'd never get. Also her backing tracks were so loud they drowned out her voice (some would see that as a benefit...!).So, not a great night and an experience I wouldn't want to repeat.

My first visit here and I wasn't disappointed. Greeted and served by a lovely young man who was polite and well dressed. Very attentive. The Boathouse is in a beautiful location on the canal with wonderful views. The decor is very nice, a mix of traditional and modern and is cosy without feeling cramped and the toilets are the best I have ever had the pleasure to use! Immaculate and we'll kept. As for the food, WOW. Tasty, presented well and ample portions. You will not be disappointed in The Boathouse, I certainly wasn't.

Enjoyed a great lunch at The Boathouse today. The food, service, and welcome was perfect.Special shout out to Adam and Jenna for looking after our group so well. We consisted of a large dog walking group.The owners and their dogs, were made very welcome. Highly recommended- we will be back!

Absolutely 10/10 awesome dog friendly pub! ☺️ I took my dog walking group here on Saturday where Adam and Jemma couldn’t have been any more warm, welcoming and accommodating 🤩 The food is 5*, the service is 5* - it’s an all round amazing pub Definitely will return! Thanks for having us!

Had a lovely meal here with our dogs. Everyone was very welcoming and made a fuss of our doggie friends. Food was lovely and service excellent. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

Excellent meal. Fresh food cooked very well . The salmon miso was gorgeous. Four of us all enjoyed our food. The fish and chips was huge and the batter very thin and crispy

Lovely food at good prices and the young staff were very attentive. Fantastic location right next to the canal with large covered outdoor area. I would highly recommend.
