The Owls Restaurant in Wigan

Went here for mum and dad's diamond wedding anniversary. There were 12 of us, the food was fab, the service was fab, cant complain about a single thing.Had a drink by the water first, as it was sunny. Overall. 10 out of 10 all round.Will deffinately return.

We went for a set menu. The meals are tiny and in my view not value for money paid out. The drinks are also expensive. It wasn't cheap, but Id sooner pay a tad more and have a bit more quality on the plate. My fish was virtually none existent, and the chips were tasteless.

Sunday roast was outstanding - as good as it was 2 wks ago. Been going to The Owls for over 25 yrs and must be honest, post covid reopening I wasn't too impressed compared to previous value and quality. Not sure if there's a new chef now, but the food, presentation and service from the young waitresses and waiters on our last 2 visits definitely merits a 5 star rating. We had 3 courses for just under £20 a head which I now think is excellent value. We'll definitely be back soon. Keep up the good work. 👍

If you want pushy rushed service with mardy staff who make you feel like you're in the way of their day, then this is definitely the place for you. The gaff also offers a secret surprise drinks menu with a "guess your own price cos I can't be arsed checking, even though the bar is only over there" policy, so when you get the "oh I've not got a clue" response when you have the cheek to ask the price of each lager, for example, you can enjoy the experience of walking past the waitress to go to the bar yourself. Food was good, but be carefull not to engage in conversation with your friends and family cos you'll soon be trying to claim your plate back from the speedy collection service. Oh and you might be able to split the bill if you can ask at least 3 members of staff, as the first 2 will say it's impossible, and that you need to sort it between you 👍

Great food and prices. . Staff lovely and friendly. . Visited 3 times within a month. Both at lunch times and an evening. Will be going again soon . .

Great service with top quality food. A great lunch menu that offers two substantial courses served by a professional well honed team in lovely surroundings. Hard to beat! Highly recommended!

It’s really good when we find a lovely restaurant that really serves VEGAN food and tastes awesome.A treat for my 65th Birthday and my partner Louise as Louise is the one that’s Vegan.The Christmas Menus are out with excellent pricesWe will definitely be going again and that’s the first time Louise has agreed!!Highly Recommended

We have been wanting to go The Owls for a while now, and with the restrictions loosening it was time to pay The Owls a visit.On arrival the pub/restaurant is very nice, beautiful old wooden beams, very tastefully decorated.All seemed perfect for a great meal. The meals...well not the best to be honest, I think Chef has more of a talent in food presentation the actually quality of food.It was a meal than you would say was ok but not on the list of we will visit again. Its a shame really beautiful place just the meal okBut nevertheless, if you want a drink and quick bite if eat and you get the weather then go for it, but be warned if you want a full meal, nice to look at just ok to eat.
