"The Travellers Rest is a traditional country pub, dating back to the 19th century, with oak beams and an ‘olde world’ feel. The pub has a warm and friendly atmosphere and has been serving the local community for over 150 years. The pub serves a wide range of cask ales and other beers, ciders, wines and spirits together with a varied food menu of locally sourced seasonal ingredients. The countryside surrounding the pub and the local beauty spot Highfield Moss are popular with walkers, dog walkers and cyclists who often use the pub as a watering hole. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome in our tap room area."

We booked for mothers day as the food here has been fab on our past visits,and wanted our family to try it out, we were a large booking and some family members turned up a little late for the booking as they had quite a far distance to travel, we were accommodated with ease and made to feel more than welcome,the staff gave impeccable service to us and everyone else dining that day.The timing between each course was spot on with no rush or fuss for them that wanted a small break in-between. The food was exquisite from start to finish and each and everyone of my family members aged 8 to 80 loved there visit

Called in at 1800 on a Tuesday with no reservation. Asked if we wanted to sit in the bar or restaurant and chose the bar. Convivial without being crowded. Drinks order taken and enough time left for us to digest the menu. All staff were young , friendly and well trained to listen. They knew what the soup was without having to ask someone. Simple things👍😊. Undercharged on the final bill because I had been to the bar myself and they hadn't added it to the bill until I pointed it outGood food, good manager. Going back next week

The salmon was amazing . Great choices for vegetarians too. Food was delicious, service was amazing, all in all a great lunch and we'll return again. Highly recommend.

lovely place, nicely decorated with friendly helpful staff!Tried my first ever pork pie? it was nice!Sangria was lovely make sure you dont do a me and smash the glass though!Also don't try to walk into the kitchen after you use the bathroom... its not a good look 🙄🤣100% recommend and will be back!

We absolutely love this pub and so does our dog! We have been regulars for a couple years and the food, drink, staff and atmosphere are top quality (neck oil on tap!) . Great lunch menu (Tuna sandwich always hits the spot!) full menu and regular specials.100% reccomnd!

Great spot for a meal. The staff are always really welcoming and attentive. The food is spot on and the prices are really reasonable for what you get. Couldn't praise the cheesecake enough.

Lovely food but was spoilt by the plates being cold allowing the veg to cool quickly.The cheesecake was individual in a glass and more like a moose.Slightly disappointed as the lamb hotpot wasn't available as well as the liver and bacon 🤦

We have just had my daughter's wedding reception at the Travellers Rest and what a fantastic job they did.The owners are very friendly and put a lovely menu together for our special day. The Travellers Rest is a gorgeous pub and restaurant, the room we used was ideal for our function of 40 people. What is also nice is the outside area, a nice setting to sit and relax. A great venue, the staff are professional and friendly, would highly recommend. Andrew
