Very good local coffee shop. Friendly polite staff, great coffee and I failed again to resist the cake! 😉

Visited twice- first occasion both me and my husband found the breakfast greasy and not nice. Decided to visit again because it’s a really nice venue. Unfortunately the drinks took ages to come to the table, the waitress gave me my tea but no milk. When I finally got her attention and ask for the milk she didn’t bring it so I had to go the counter and ask for it. By this time the tea was cold. my cousin and I tried the avocado, poached egg on toast and we both found it dry and distasteful. Both children had pancakes what was really nice. Overpriced and disappointing experience on both occasions cost just under £40 for three pancakes, avocado and egg on toast, tea, coffee, small apple juice and water.

Home Coffee is situated in the centre of Oxton Village, its a lovely location with some beautiful property in the area.Went for breakfast with a friend, the place was full at 10.30am, always a good sign. We soon managed to get a table, whilst waiting we sat by the window soaking up the lovely spring sunshine and watched the world go by.I had the veggie breakfast, it was tasty, well cooked and did not disappoint. My friend had the toasted bagel, with smashed avocado topped with a poached egg. It looked good. The staff where really busy, although they where friendly and happy to chat.Nice place to visit if you have some free time of a weekend. The daytime menu looked good also.

4 guys squeezed into the front left corner as you see the shop, very tight for room when busy. Staff and food were nice

We visited Home on Tuesday (4th January) after a long time since our last visit. We were told, upon sitting, that there was no chef on today and that they only had bagels, sausage or bacon sandwiches or toast available. I completely understand this with COVID. After coming from Upton, we thought that this would be no problem as we were excited to visit Home and wanted some sort of breakfast as a treat before returning back to working life.We ordered a macchiato, latte, sausage sandwhich and bacon sandwich. When they came, I was disappointed to find the bacon and sausage sandwich looked like something I would have served myself while at university. We thought though, to hell with it, at least it won't be an expensive bill. When I went to pay at the end, I was shocked to be told that our total bill was over £21. Unfortunately, I was too British to query this and in shock, instead leaving smiling while cursing under my breath. The fact that the latte and macchiato came to a grand total of £7.10, this means that we were charged over £13 for two sub standard sandwiches. By substandard I mean really poor. No special bread, just plain white from the shop, two rashes of bacon and two sausages in the sandwich.Whoever has done the pricing and profit margins for Home must seriously be on something as for two slices of bread and two pieces of bacon, to be charging £7.50, they must be making over a 700% margin on the item. What bamboozles me is a full English is £7.95.Funnily enough, my aunty came round and without mentioning it, she talked about how, on New Years eve, she attended somewhere, with no chef. They ordered 4 sausage/bacon sandwiches, a piece of toast and 5 coffee/teas. When they came to pay, it was around £75. I asked, was this Home, to which she replied yes in shock and asked how I knew. They had also put a 10% service charge on so essentially were asking for near £70 for 5 breakfast sandwiches and coffees. They could have had 9 full English breakfasts instead.I recommend you look at your pricing, as until then, I will be go to Leaf, Benedicts, the OBK, Claremont farm, Barbettas or anywhere else that actually charges a sane amount of money for the products they prepare. For an £7/ 8 breakfast sandwich, I would have expected something more.

Not good for allergies. My mum went for lunch, she explained a numerous amount of times she could not have dairy as she has a serve allergy. She had a breakfast of bacon, sausage, mushroom, hash brown and half a dry slice of toast. She had to leave the lunch due to the reaction.Whether this was due to cross contamination or cooked it butter. Not acceptable.

Great place. Great people with lovely well cooked food. Also the best cup of tea I've had in ages. Also check out the bottle shop opposite for some well sourced ales, wines and spirits. A tasty corner of Oxton. Highly recommended.

With exception to the window overlooking the bricked walled stairwell, this place has sub-standard decor and furniture with highly inflated prices.I was confused about the payment procedure. When I went up to the till to look at the menu to order, I was told it was table service. So at the end of our snack I waited for the bill to be brought to the table only to find out you have to go back to the till to pay.I took my son for a treat and could have taken him to the cinema for less!1 latte1 milkshakePoached egg on toastCarrott cakeTotal price £16.10That said, what we did have was beautiful. The eggs were cooked to perfectionThe carrot cake was moistThe best latte I've had in agesThe staff were nice enough but came across bored. With exception to the blonde lady who took my payment.
