Lawns Restaurant at Thornton Hall in Wirral

Sunday lunch at The Lawns is just a fabulous experience.From the moment you are warmly greeted by staff at the door you feel you are whisked away to a different world where you are treated like, and definitely dine like, royalty.Even though they were busy with two private parties the beautifully decorated restaurant itself was quiet and felt exclusive, the service was attentive but not intrusive, staff have the ability to make diners feel like honoured guests. They are so genuinely friendly and make you feel like they want to make your dining experience very special. They certainly accomplish that.The meal itself was delicious, beautifully presented and gorgeous flavours. It’s very hard to choose as each item on the menu is so tempting..I suppose it just means we will have to come more often so we can work our way through it 😊.If you want a very special Sunday lunch treat you won’t do any better than this. I left feeling very chilled, like I’d had a mini break in a country house hotel and was very sad to leave. I will look forward to the next time.

Food was fantastic but the service was very slow- duck was an hour wait but sadly we were informed which meant that we sat around wondering what was going on.

My parents and I enjoyed our experience at the Lawns very much so. The food was outstanding, truly delicious! The staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. An all round wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend it to others and we will most certainly return! Thank you.

Today was one of those disappointing days when the cook was not on the ball. Most of the time Crackle Barrel serves awesome food. However today the corn on the cob tasted old, mac & cheese had burnt pieces mixed in with it. The meatloaf tasted very bland and dry. Corn bread was so so. We had our order as take out

What an amazing service. The team were fantastic what a credit to the hotel they are. Couldn't fault one of them, from the team that checked us in. To the ones thay helped us in the spa. Not for getting the ones that served us the most amazing meal. They were very intentive and knowledgeable. Not for getting the chef and his team, the food was amazing.

We had the most wonderful experience having an evening meal in the Lawns restaurant. The decor and enviroment was beautiful. The staff were attentive, polite and pleasant and the service was exemplary. The food was delicious and superbly presented. We even had a visit from the chef who described every cheese on the trolley and helped us choose, which was so lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a very enjoyable and special dining experience.
