Rude owner, Helen Demotrios .. whitnessed her screaming at her staff enough to make them cry and walk out. Absolute horror of a woman and should be ashamed of herself. This isnt the first time this has happened by the looks of the reviews and customers/staff have said the same. Will NEVER recommend anyone to go here. Helen needs to take a look at herself and get some people and management skills. Disgraceful.

Lovely location and previously great service. Today, at a quiet time, we were asked for our drinks order and given a menu. Two coffees took 20 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately before even having chance to make a food order the waiter walked off. Suffice to say we did not stay. What a shame as Sheldrakes has always been very good for customer service.

It was my wife's 70th birthday. We're not Billie no mates, we'd been partying with the family all weekend. It was a Monday and everyone had to work, I had to take her out for dinner didn't I? 😁. We had a lovely quiet dinner together and Sheldrake's is just the place to do it. After dinner at we sat in the patio with drinks and watched the sunset. We were also entertained by another customer who sang Ballard's as he played the piano.

Lovely location. Food looks great (we only called in for a drink on the terrace). View across to Wales from the terrace. Would get 5 stars but unfortunately no cask ales and poor selection of bottled beers.

The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. The food was delicious, we had two courses and struggled to get through dessert and the portion sizes were big. I highly recommend visiting this place and would go again! I didn’t catch the name of the two gentlemen working on Monday 21st June but they were great and did an amazing job!

Excellent service. Waiter was wonderful and totally professional. Food was exquisite. Views and atmosphere made our afternoon. Thank you.

My favourite place to go, whether its to eat, or just relax in the chilled out surroundings with a good glass of red.

Fantastic food. Well presented, good portions, excellent quality. All with some idyllic scenery across the Dee Estuary. Not quite a 5 star review due to service. You get the impression the staff are all new. No one directing them. It's very hit and miss if you manage to get anyone's attention at your table. They are missing a significant amount of extra income due to this.We weren't asked about drinks, deserts, coffees etc and it was easily 40mins after we'd finished eating before finally managing to get someone's attention for a bill. Not all of this time was spent waiting, but it was perfect time to upsell those extras mentioned above.

Is not a chance to see the funny side. Like the chef said regarding the note ..From a restaurant that they respect their clients! I understand everybody have good and bad days. But is unacceptable to order to coffee.. Receive them after. 10 minutes.and after Somebody to bring the table cloth for the table.. No spoons.. No sugar no salt.. Place is dirty unfortunately.. After 4 months or how long it was closed..(during covid pandemic) Now. Should be immaculate.. But is not!! And that's very disappointing and definitely never recommend it for. Our local community!! Food. Was uncooked (paella) u can see. From the picture the rice is raw (even not al dente) years ago was so delicious but now doesn't worth anymore! Looks good but taste is totally different

When walking up to Sheldrakes you'd be forgiven for being apprehensive about what you'd booked for as the marshland around it can look desolate and in need of a revamp HOWEVER if you let that put you off you will have really missed out. The owners can't control the area but what they can control is the restaurant and they do a cracking job of it. The attention to detail from the very attentive staff, the ambience of the restaurant, the amazing views and the fabulous food all make it a lovely evening! It has a real feel of a holiday taverna and makes you feel like you've had a real break from the norm. Lovely place! The owners and staff deserve a real pat on the back!!
