Would highly recommend The Mouse at Brimstage to hold an event. We hired conservatory and area of outside seating for a Birthday party. Food was delicious (just wish there was more of it!), staff were lovely, and the venue is so pretty that we have ended up with an abundance of beautiful photos to share and reshare for years to come to remind us of a great day.

Poor Service that even undermines the basic necessity of hospitality. This place use to be fantastic primarily due to it's lovely setting. However, today the plan was to get food and after speaking with the manager we decided to leave. Firstly two drinks being a coke and a lime and soda costing £7.55, which were both served in a plastic cup and poured in front of me from a 1.5l bottle of coke, Ridiculous price. We attempted to order at the main bar, but we were sent to the outside bar to a queue of six others. It would appear the garden and inner bar are two parallel universes in the same establishment. I went to complain to the manager and return one of the drinks due to a fly being present in the drink and she gave me her undivided attention, whilst reading from a menu stating "I'M MULTI-TASKING". It was clear that what I had to say would have little impact, but she did offer use 'complimentary' drinks, which were declined followed by our departure. Real shame, as it's a nice venue.

What a lovely little place bound by history and a little twist. Cannot comment on food as had stopped serving on my visit. Will visit again over the summer.

What a place, we stumbled upon this lovely little place whilst out with the kids. The garden is very beautiful and the kids loved running around while me and the other half enjoyed a really great fresh tasting lunch. The staff where very friendly and attentive. We will be visiting again highly recommended to anyone near by or visiting. Thanks

Really lovely restaurant with a good menu. Had brunch of poached eggs with avocado on granary bloomer. Just wonderful. Lovely staff - recommended 👍

Came here for Sunday lunch today. Really disappointed. Apparently new owners. That possibly explains why it was so bad. It’s fine if you’re not expecting quality food or service. The food was average. But the waitress was beyond rude. She even took the time to follow us out to continue her bad attitude, arms folded sulky face and smarmy comments. Would not recommend to anyone.

Been going to the mouse for a long time, always have the steak pie or quiche. Unfortunately the past few meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) just haven’t been the same. I waited a while for my meal on my last visit and it was bland and thrown together. The staff are lovely and very polite so apologies for the negativity. The menu really needs a push and more variety, my friend had a sandwich to which she referred to ‘I could have made that myself’. Very disappointed as it’s usually consistent! Hopefully this feedback is useful.

I love this quirky eatery that looks like it is set in an old barn or farm building. The staff are friendly and attentive. I can highly reccomend the fish finger butty with lumberjack chips. The fish fingers are homemade and the batter is light. The bread was of a bloomer type and very fresh. On the bread is tartar sauce and mushy peas. To be honest I think there could be more mushy peas on the sandwich. The lumberjack chips where hot and flavoursome and a small salad with dressing was very pleasant. I would definitely visit again in the near future.
