The Montgomery Pub & Kitchen in Wirral

Called in on the off chance on a Friday night to get a meal. Hadn’t booked in advance, the staff couldn’t really be more accommodating. Nothing was an effort to get a table for us. Was warned in advance there may be a wait for food as very busy. Food arrived in good time. No more of a wait than I would expect. The steak we had was cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a visit you won’t be disappointed. Waitresses gave 1st class service. Manger was a great chap too. Very attentive. I cannot rate this pub highly enough.

Good beer on draught including love Lane and Hobgoblin, two of my favourites. The cheeseburger was large and juicy handmade patty. Paul the manager was very accommodating

Paul and his the new team have brought this gastro pub back to the great level it was at a few years ago and may take it even further. Friendly family atmosphere with nice food and some good drink choices

Food was lovely and value for money but service throughout our visit was poor, overall impression of the service is that the service staff are not adequately trained which spoils a great venue and dining experience.for referenceI needed to ask someone to come and take my order after sitting at the table for 20 minutes, if I had known there would be a wait then that's not a problem...please manage customers expectations...

Booked a table for 5:30 today (Sunday). When we turned up we were told food was stopped serving at 5pm this was never told to us on the phone, sat down an the waitress took our menus off us straight away and told us there were no roasts left, left the pub as we had no option and the manager chased us out asking why we were leaving, the whole 5 minutes we were in there the staff were rude, will never go back

Yesterday we had a wonderful meal cooked by the new chef Rick. Paul the manager looked after us all afternoon so I would thoroughly recommend eating there

Really friendly staff, and the food was really good, i had montgomerys famous triple sandwich, the saltiness of bacon and sweetness of the tomato played well with the moist chicken. Really impressed

Nipped in for some lunch Saturday afternoon. Was empty in there. Just had a quick bite to eat and a drink. Good service, nice sandwich.

Friendly staff, bright, nice interior, menu has interesting selection including some good vegetarian and vegan choices. My poached eggs were hard-done unfortunately, but everything else was great.

Fantastic place! Love the food here and the staff are warm and friendly! Highly recommend! (Plus it's dog friendly too!)
