I am vegan. Ordered a veggie dish. Ended up eating what looked like chicken bones. Rang up to ask how this happened⦠was completely dismissed, spoken over when I tried to explain how upsetting this was for me after being vegan for 7 years, and was told that āthey cook chicken initā and that they have other customers to see to.I ordered every week and have a mass of family that go on a regular basis. Wonāt be anymore.Absolutely disgusted, my partner went into the restaurant because he was so disgusted by how I was spoken to on the phone, turns out it wasnāt a chicken bone, but we still wonāt be returning due to the restaurants rudeness, lack of customer service and complete lack of accountability when it was thought that it was a bone. I was literally told that it is what it is, and these things happen⦠would recommend no veggies or vegans go if these things happen there.

Attentive, friendly & professional service, food consistently good on dining nights or party nights, nothing seems a problem to them to give a great dining experience/ambience. Bring your own drinks a bonus, alongside their fully stocked bar & wine list. Always easy to be critical of this type of restaurant, but in my wife's and my opinion, definitely 5 star. If you need food or drink adjusted to your taste just ask. Staff only too willing to assist. P&B Wight

This place is average at best. We ordered 4 different dishes, I tried them all and I just wasn't impressed. None of them were bad either, just OK. Service was OK too, but not impressive.Maybe I'm just used to much better Indian places.I wouldn't return there.

We were meeting good friends here for a catch up, so we were all looking forward to the evening. In the past The Ruhi was always the place to go , you always enjoyed good food and a warm and friendly welcome. Not this time, it was the total opposite! When we arrived, the waiter was propping himself up against the bar with his arms folded. I said hello.....he totally ignored me. Luckily our friends were already seated so we just made our way over to them.I ordered sheek kebab to start, it was so salty and swimming in oil. Not a good start. My sister in law had channa on puri, the chickpeas were as hard as rock and the bread was impossible to cut.My main was tandoori chicken, which always used to be delicious, it was quite dry and tough as if it had been re-heated a few times. The others weren't impressed with their meals either. No body came and asked how our meals were. Needless to say that will be the last time we visit. The waiters there were always happy to see you, this bunch here last night were so miserable! Normally the restaurant would be quite busy no matter what day it was, last night it was out table of 4 and another table of 4.I you want a decent meal with decent service don't come here!

The Ruhi used to be great 10-15 years ago but the quality has become bog standard and often even less than that. Dried out chicken, bland sauces, chewy starters.Unfortunately the advice is don't even bother, it's a waste of money.

Came here tonight to celebrate my friends 20th birthday. Booked the day before and expected there to be a table for us to sit at upon arrival. We were made to wait 20 minutes for our table and after being told by the waiter āYou have to order a mainā we were then moved tables, which we were happy to do. However after when our starters arrived they were stone cold so had to be sent back. We then waited an hour and a half for our mains and noticed people who had ordered after us weāre getting their food. I politely asked the waiter if he could check on our food and how long it would be to which I was very rudely told āweāre busyā and āother people didnāt get startersā.The staff were all very rude towards me and many other customers tonight and Iām quite frankly disappointed as I have been here years before and had nothing but good things to say. I have been left in disbelief and will never be returning.

Amazing food, would recommend! Staff were very friendly and although only got take away, the atmosphere in the restaurant was great.

Monkfish substitution scamOrdered the "Monkfish" malabar. No way was it Monkfish looked like Cod or Haddock which had been diced and frozen. I rang to complain just to be told "sorry mate". There was no offer of a refund or anything just very defensive. I have had Monkfish many times before and I know what to expect.I would never use this restaurant again. If I was buying a Fish curry would have no complaints but to be charged £9 for that is not right

Spot on Indian. Food was fresh and good portions. Maybe £2-3 more than other Indians local but well worth it. Can take your own ale. Sundays and Wednesdays they have a special night, basically less than half price. On a normal night, roughly £20 will get you popadoms, starter, main with rice and a naan bread. The meat in the mains is more than enough and very chunky, falls apart, beautifulky cooked. All naans are freshly baked. Top place to eat. Perfect for dates or bigger partys. Also delivers.
