The Shippons in Wirral

Good and friendly service, reasonably priced meals.Visited last sunday 3/4/22 not a very nice meal but yhe way Becky handled our table was wonderful, she wanted to please us and for the family to visit again. Well done Becky you have to be STAR employee.

My family and I had a meal at the Shippons, a week ago. One or two main course dishes were off menu, because they had sold out. That shows how popular it is. There were alternatives to select from.There could have been a better choice for Vegan Diners. There were 3 members of party who are Vegans. ( Maybe talk to Vegan visitors as to what meals would be good to see on Menu. Cheap and easily prepared) Vegan Stew, served with red cabbage and bread.!!We all enjoyed are meals, I chose Lasagne chips and salad, it was lovely.We all enjoyed our evening, some members of family had not been before, they said they will visit again. Staff very helpful and friendly. So I can recommend you pay a visit sometime.

We booked for 4pm on the 19th February. The service was slow the food was not up to their normal standard. We had to wait for our desserts. At the end of the meal I complained to the person who had just come on duty. He could see that although the pub was not full it was not runni g as usual they all seem to congregate in the kitchen. To many young people with no customer service skills.

There just happened to be a live band on at 9 pm. We were booked in for dinner at 7 pm. Had a lovely leisurely meal and stayed afterwards. We're thoroughly entertained and had a Fantastic night out. Shippons staff couldn't do enough for us and it felt very homely and friendly. Great crowd. Great night.

My partner and I visited The Shippons for our evening meal, as we had been meaning to try it out for ages. However, we were sorely disappointed. Neither of us could finish our meals, bearing in mind that my partner eats almost anything and very rarely leaves food on the plate. I had the fish and chips, my partner had a burger. Both were obviously from a frozen packet, the same for the chips. The mushy peas were just a clump and I suspect were not fresh. His burger bun had seen better days.When the waitress collected our almost full plates, she didn't say anything and didn’t ask if we had enjoyed our meal. Maybe she knew what the answer would be and didn’t want to have to deal with dissatisfied customers.We can safely say that we will not be eating there again.

Dont need to do a review if you've been before you already know. 3 course set menu in the week £9.95 and reasonable price for drinks. This is my go to for eating out on the wirral ! Staff can't be more helpful and lovely atmoshphere. Cant recommended enough

Lovely place to go for a lovely occasion or just a lovely meal. We had our sons 18th birthday there and they looked after us really well . My mother n father in law go there quite alot with there friends xx

Great value, 3 courses for £9.45! I had the whitebait followed by the braised beef and finished off with bread and butter pudding. All really tasty! Nice ambience too! Loved the real roaring fire!

Wouldn't hesitate to reccomend this place. Food was very good staff are really helpful and the atmosphere of the place is very good. It's dog friendly and you get live music. NOT karaoke but a proper musician who can play properly and sing properly. We spent two hours having Sunday lunch and it was so lovely it felt more like an hour. The general standard of service and food in most places has nose dived lately but not in The Shippons . I'm very much looking forward to a return visit. Thanks

We have just had a lovely meal here this afternoon. Excellent staff, friendly, cheerful and professional. The choice of food is excellent, for all tastes and diets. Excellent price and excellent food, well presented, hot and tasty. Thank you will will be back very soon.
