Shard Riverside in Wyre

Visited to have a Sunday roast dinner on a cold wet day. It was delicious with generous portions and the best gravy ever! Definitely ask for extra gravy, it's worth it 🙂

The Hotel was very clean, the staff were very helpful throughout our stay, the food was delicious, there were a lot of choices from both the breakfast & the evening meal menu. We were lucky to get the weather and sitting outside having lunch or a drink with the beautiful setting at the hotel. We will definitely be back

Fantastic, every time.All their food is properly cooked, by a proper chef... no "bing bing" like most eateries in the area.Lovely area with great views over the River Wyre.Their rooms are also very spot on - a little pricey though albeit, worth their asking prices IMHO.

Nice area and the place was clean. Bloke on reception when we arrived was very friendly and professional. The lady in the morning on the other hand was quite abrupt and not very friendly at all. The breakfast was just ok, rock hard bacon and sausages but the poached eggs were very nice. Sorry but don’t think we’d stay again.

Another great Sunday lunch. Everything about this place is really good. Can't beat the traditional type roast lunch, the flavour and presentation is second to none. Just excellent

Went here for dinner on new year's eve, some tables went unused for the whole evening presumably they were cancellations due to the pandemic. A shame really because the meal was very good, started with a seafood cocktail which was nicely presented, tasty and a good sized portion. Then had lamb shank, again nicely presented tasty and plenty of it. Finished off with a generous size cheese and biscuits and coffee. Ambiance was good, spacing between courses was spot on, a good evening out.

Lovely location and good beer but the food was very average, we had the Sunday roast and the meat was dry and tough. The desserts also dry (sticky toffee pudding). Will try again as the place is nice.

Warm welcome on arrival, Room upgraded without asking, Nice view of river from our room, Bed very comfortable, Room spotless & lovely and warm.In fact you would be very hard pushed to find fault with this place.Breakfast was spot on, coffee was strong as we like it.All in all probably one of the best hotels we've visited.

Lovely 1 night stay. Nice big clean room and the bed was super comfy! Only downside was we had views of the back of the hotel so nothing great but breakfast was really tasty which then had a gorgeous view of the river. Would stay again and would probably ask for a room with a view. We stayed in a deluxe double.
