Had a take away from this restaurant a few weeks ago and to be honest, the food was tasty and of generous portions.Decided to try the restaurant out and we arrived on a Friday around 6pm. We entered the takeaway end as we didn't realise you could enter at the side of the building to be met by a young chap who was friendly and showed us to a table.Although the evening was still daylight outside, there was no ambience in the restaurant and no table cloths or any character whatsoever which once myself and my wife were seated, we had second thoughts about getting up and ordering a takeaway but so as not to be rude, we decided to remain seated. The young waiter took our order and I asked if we could have a beer and a wine. The waiter said sorry we don't serve alcohol drinks as we are not licenced and if I wanted to I could nip to the coop and get some from there and drink in the restaurant.I said oh okay then never mind could we share a jug of water instead. He came back with 2 glasses of lukewarm cold water which wasn't nice but we didn't want to complain about it.Waited and waited for over 15 minutes until our poppadoms arrived. They were lovely and crispy but the white rhiata on the pickle tray was very runny and tasted watered down. We had a couple of onion bhaji's on the side which were so tasty and probably the best ones we have ever eaten. The waiter kept on disappearing and the whole restaurant lacked any background music and only 2 other couples came in whilst we were there.A young girl waitress appeared and she was very nice and appeared to be on the ball alot more than the young gentlemen and I think she realised we were still waiting for the main course after our dirty plates and cutlery had been sitting on the table for a while. The main meal arrived and my wife had a Chicken tikka makani and I had a Chicken tikka passada. Presentation was nice but again both dishes lacked flavour and looked like the sauces had been watered down. There was hardly any chicken in either dish and the vegetable pilau rice had big pieces of broccoli in and Brussel sprouts ?.We are not ones for complaining but the dishes we experienced were well under par and to top it all we had to pay by cash only so luckily there was a cashpoint at the coop. After having a nice takeaway a few weeks previous to sitting in the restaurant we found both experiences worlds appart.I don't really want to say we would never use this place again but unless the quality of the food gets to a decent standard, unfortunately we will be not return.

Had a take away last week, ordered by phone and then collected.3 different dishes rice and breads…. Omg got to say it is one of the best Indian takeaways I’ve ever eaten! Not greasy or oily, flavours were fabulous and cooked to perfection.Whilst collecting loads of people went into the dining area ( you take your own alcohol) definitely very popular.I for one and my friends who shared the takeaway will definitely be returning and recommending.Amazing food and very friendly helpful staff too.

I Ordered food at 7:30pm advised that the expected delivery time was 8:50pm, it’s now 9:40pm and still no food, a call to the restaurant resulted in “sorry, we will give you some free popadoms” still no food, won’t be ordering again.

Just ordered we waited 1 an a half hours and it was wrong ,we asked for extra garlic rice an naan bread what we got was bland rice an tasteless bread. Very disappointed. I gave it 1 star as my partner enjoyed his meal just not the above as mentioned.

It honestly was the best Indian takeaway we've ever had. I ordered yesterday a beef Rogan Josh with a special rice, which was sweetcorn, egg and peas. My dad ordered the same but with a potato rice. We're definitely ordering it again, it was absolutely beautiful. Credit to the chef you did an incredible job, and the food arrived dead early. We got hot food which was fantastic. I'd definitely recommend ordering from the clay oven they do such a brilliant job with delicious food 😍😋🍛

Ordered food at 6, expected delivery was 6.50-7.10, at 7.40 called restaurant was told it would be 20 minutes ......at 8.30 called restaurant to be told any minute now .8.50 finally arrived , well some of it did......no poppadoms, no mango chutney, no salad.Food marginally warm, 2 dishes were ok, 3 were very tasteless .....certainly would not recommend and i would never use again.

We have been getting takeaways for years from clay oven. Never had any faults. The food is good portion. The staff are polite and make you feel welcome. Rahim is absolutely brilliant and always has time to talk to you. Cannot fault this takeaway. Now they are opening the restaurant on 18th may. Can’t wait for a sit down meal. Hope everything goes ok. Good luck with the opening. And we’ll still see you on a Friday night as usual. Julie xx

Well..... I don’t know where to start!Firstly, I’d like to just say that the staff here are nothing less than lovely. And secondly, the portions ..... MASSIVE!An UNREAL eating experience with everything placed in the order, which was far from straight forward. The food was plenty, it was hot, it was better than tasty.... and believe me, I LURVE my food.I would recommend this place in heartbeat!Just Superb 👍
