The Ship and Anchor serve absolutely fabulous homemade food. The homemade chocolate and raspberry cheesecake was by far the best I have ever had. We have just eaten there and I cannot recommend it enough . So friendly and welcoming and our dog was given a treat and some water and was made welcome. Thank you guys.Jan😊

Avoid this place. Came here on a quiet weekday. Arrived just after 11am with a plan to have a walk along the river and go back for a drink and some food (as other reviews had stated this is possible) was met by a very rude and fairly aggressive man who demanded we pay £10 to park there, even though we said we were coming back for lunch! We left, and we won’t be going back!

Had a nice walk there along the river bank. Has a small outside area so sat and had a drink. Had the mushroom starter and fish pie - was disappointed as the fish pie was very runny and served only with a couple of vegetables. Had one glass of Rose and the bill was £26 - i thought very overpriced for what i had. Also the landlady would not recommend or assist AT ALL in either phoning or getting a cab, so had to walk back in the dark on my own as my phone had run out . wont be going back

Really happy we stumbled across this lovely little pub after a trip to Arundel Castle. We were greeted by two lovely Scottish ladies who made you feel right at home, the food was excellent, proper homemade grub. The steak in the pie was melt in the mouth and the pate was lovely. Lovely lady behind the bar was baking a cake to put in the bottom of a homemade trifle, I was very impressed with this, just shame we were to full to try a pud!

The beer was good although only one ale . Both had roasts. Ample meat potato and yorkshire pud . The veg was a bit lacking in quantity .At £12.50 the price was fair
