We visited this restaurant last night after having had a few take aways previously which had been good. Unfortunately our experience was not a very pleasant one!The restaurant was quiet when we arrived as it was quite early. However, it then took 90 minutes before our mains arrived. The people on a neighbouring table actually walked out as they had been waiting so long for food. Another table when their food did arrive had mushrooms in it which the lady was allergic too.Communication from staff was very poor. If there was a problem in the kitchen no one mentioned it. The staff seemed lack lustre and some didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. It was difficult to even get their attention when we were ready to order. Writing orders down on post it notes wasn't a very professional look either! No food left the kitchen for the first hour of our visit - except for poppadoms. When our food finally arrived it was ok. Nothing special but it was edible.Overall it was a disappointing experience and we are unlikely to eat in there again. Their customer service needs a lot of work.

Lovely food, such a shame service very slow. As all their focus seems to be on take away customers and being right next to door cold and having to hear lots of complaints over how long food was taking

First time in So India and my what a lovely meal. Could not fault anything about the staff or food. Rice was so light and fluffy as was the nan bread. Chicken Tikka madras so tender and tasty. Side dishes were lovely too. Will definitley be going again and will recommend to others. Thank you So India.

So India are a great host for an evening out food rates 10/10 and the staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome. Even making sure I was ok as I hurt my foot and on crutches looked after us very well will definitely be going back.

I'm prepared to admit I might have visited on an off night as i've heard pretty good things about this restaurant. The Good things : the staff were very courteous and my main dish was very good indeed. The bad things : Don't put someone on the bar who doesn't have a great understanding of what he's serving or what he has available. My poppadoms were not freshly cooked and hence a bit on the chewy side and the piped music was very distracting (DRILL). Having said that I would definitely visit again and bring my own mixtape (is that still a thing ? π€£)

Absolutely superb experience - great food - Naans, Paneer mains, rice - everything was really nice. Adding to that, exceptional staff and service. Great chat with the owner as well towards the end, and it was very apparent how much emphasis is laid on customer service. We will visit again the next time we come to Bognor Regis.

To get this out the way, their food tastes very good. Excellent in most cases, it is one simple problem i have experienced several times while eating from here.Oil.The amount of cooking oil they use to cook the food in is astonishing. In one case, it was about 50/50 oil to sauce ratio. It is just ridiculous, and completely ruins the entire meal. Now I completely understand why in tandori restaurants there may be a surplus of oil in the food, so i am understanding & expecting there to be a good separation of oil on top of the food and i have no issue with it. But if you understand what its like typically, then imagine what itβs like for me to actually bring it up as such an issue. As i said itβs not the actual flavour & quality of the food, expect from that one aspect. And the service is really good. Very nice people typically. Maybe i was unlucky a few times, but it has surly put me off from getting from here again. Maybe i shall try again soon to see if it was a fluke.

Have eaten in and had take aways from here. Love eating in but food just as good with take away. Lovely staff and very accommodating and even through in an extra bombay potato!

I've been meaning to come here for awhile since So India first opened and was worth it. Never eaten Ostrich Bazaar before and you will get a complimentary Baileys afterwards. Definitely will go back again. The staff are friendly and helpful.

So close to a review rating of four. Just fell short because one waiter thought that we had ordered our mains and so did another so we sat for over thirty minutes waiting just for menus. That said the chicken korma was tasty and cooked just right, the portion very ample and very well presented. My lamb shaslik masala was probably one of the nicest, if not the nicest that I have had. The lamb was beautifully tender, the sauce wonderfully spiced and seasoned. Our mushroom rice was light, not heavy, and was serving nice and hot. Our mains were accompanied by a garlic naan and a keema naan - both served just right. Some say that its impossible to get naan breads wrong, but that's not the case. They can be burnt, dried up or in the case of a keema naan the meat can be all dropped to one side, not so at So India. Just right. The drinks weren't overly expensive either. I had the mandatory pint or two of cobra whilst my wife had a very generous (really generous) glass or two of gin.The service was good, the staff were very friendly and I'm sure that the little confusion after we were seated was probably due to how busy the restaurant was. It is very popular indeed, the food was very good and the atmosphere was good too. No rowdy yobs here, as sometimes you find in some curry houses. This was a true restaurant, not a takeaway selling meals in a cramped space. The restaurant was nicely spaced out, the tables weren't right on top of each other. There's also plenty of parking. The restaurant is easy to find on the main road on the outskirts of the village. We walked from our B&B in the centre, no more than twenty to twenty five minutes. The restaurant is well worth a visit, so close to a four - maybe next time π΄4β£
