I live just across the road from the pub and would love it to be my local. I have visited the pub on three occasions now over the last year or so and have been disappointed every time. On my last visit today I was asked to leave the pub before I even got my meal. We went to the bar to sign in for our meal. We were shown to a table and despite the excessive number of staff, waited 10 mins for our drink order. 10 mins later we asked one of the staff how long we had to wait for our food and we’re told that our number would be called when ready. We were not given a number when we arrived so the staff gave us one, several other customers had arrived in the meantime and had been served. We asked another senior member of staff how long we had to wait and we’re told that the staff had to have time to prepare the food(we were having the carvery!!!!!!) I then apparently was rude to the member of staff and asked to leave!!!!!! This is not the first time the staff have tried to fob me off, the first was the turkey was dry and I couldn’t even cut my ham, the second I was told I couldn’t have one of the real ales as they had a problem with the gas??????? I have been in the trade all of my working life in several capacities and have never come across a pub with so little respect for the customer and customer service. Unfortunately I will now not return to support my local pub.

Came for mother's day. Booked ahead. Came in between lunch and dinner so wasn't too busy however we waiting a long time for our turn to get carvery. Nevertheless, food was great and will return.

Had a lovely roast lunch there with my mum today. Food was absolutely amazing and didn't have to wait long before being called up. The waitress was so polite and checked on every one she was serving in our seating area.Only reason not 5 stars is so many dogs in a there .we are dog owners ourselves. I dont particularly like seeing big dogs with their tongues on the tables druelling for food. But otherwise 100% recommend going there.

This is a delightful pub with good food. As well as a regular menu they have a cavary which is definitely worth having all served up by great polite staff.

Visited Saturday, very dissatisfied with the serviceThere was a young girl working with a gentleman which I presume was the manager. ( very scruffy ) they were both dressed in what seemed to be there everyday wear.I was flabbergasted to hear them swearing and putting down customers of the establishment for customers to hear, I really couldn’t believe that they was so brazen about it.This whole experience has put me off of returning. This is such a shame as the pub itself is very old style and welcoming, and the food was very nice, however as for the service of these two we will not return.

Fantastic Sunday carvery in exceptionally (dog-) friendly traditional pub. Huge plates, delicious food, great beer, cheerful atmosphere. What's not to like?

Very disappointed with my meal and service. Had a chicken Burger and that was it apart from the Tiniest bit of green. When I asked the waitress does it come with anything else. Its extra it does say in the Menu. But it says it comes with Onion rings was told if they haven't got any you won't get them...unbelievable. I left a lot of my meal. And wasn't offered anything in return not worth the £12.⁵0 would have expected a drink or money off used to love going to the beresford but won't be coming again sadly

Every bit of my experience was five stars, I asked if I could come earlier than planned as I finished worked early and it was not a problem, the food was superb, so good in fact we all stayed and had three courses each, the staff were brilliant... A real credit to the owners, they were attentive, smart and professional, not one of them stood around doing nothing. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed today ..Arrived on time and was seated and once order was given waited 40 mins before we were allowed to go up to the carvery .All of the joints of meat were over cooked..There wasn't any roast potatoes, crackling, or stuffing ready ..The slices of meat where more slabs .We were given a discount as an apology hence I given 2 stars ..I would not go there for a carvery again
