Not nice at all! The starter was okish, except the sour bread, which was very hard & vertually inedible. The chips with the main course were just like hard shells, massed produced frozen type! Customers kept asking to change tables, such a shame.

Afternoon tea for retirement. ( nearly 30 of us) . Beautiful venue. Staff and manager very friendly. Food delicious and really good gluten free option. Thank you for great afternoon.

Booked a table for 2 at 5 pm on 4/3/22. Ordered small plates x4 and the duck meal. Cost £84 with 1 glass of wine each. My friend had the worst case of indegestion from the duck whilst I had terrible stomach pains, vomiting and could not stop burping. Fish smelled off and sauces were greasy, Creme Brulee was tasteless. The 2 stars were for the waitress. NEVER AGAIN.

Absolutely brilliant! Lovely food in a great setting. Had a three course meal and each dish was carefully presented, perfectly cooked and flavours worked well together. First visit here, but definitely not the last.

My family (15 of us in total) have just had a lovely meal here. First time eating here and we all met up for our annual Xmas meal. My daughter and family came from Edinburgh for the day and the rest came from as far as Leeds. The Forge was warm and welcoming with a lovely log fire and friendly staff. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were also great with the young children. Meal was tasty with plenty of everything. The childrens meal was huge too. Thank you for making this meal a real family get together

Fabulous little find in pretty picturesque surroundings. Booking essential. Fantastic Sunday lunch. We went all out; starters, mains, sweets, coffees and even mocktails. Tasty, freshly cooked and delious food, helpful and friendly staff at reasonable prices . Will return.

First time trying the Forge, definately won't be the last! We want for lunch and can't wait to go back! The thing that sets the Forge apart beside the amazingly cooked individual elements is that everything is paired so well! Definitely one to impress a date or for special occasions or maybe if you just feel a bit fancy! 👌 Didn't even have to think about giving a 5 star rating!
