Went two nights in a row for a meal, The first night was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. The very next day it was like a different pub, the service was slow (badly understaffed) and the food was so bad I felt embarrassed taking my family there. The most disgusting meal was the prawns curry, omg I have never tasted anything so wrong. This was a really bad meal. No one even touched it and the waitress was even embarrassed to ask as she could see the food was untouched. Get this meal off the menu or you damage your reputation.Mushroom Stroganoff - the best veggie meal ever and the steak is the best!

Lovely pub with delicious meals. Friendly and efficient staff. You need to book if you want to eat there in the evening. A good choice to of vegetarian meals.

Just had the most amazing meal at The Lion. I have several allergies and the staff/team were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was incredible. Extremely high standard and cannot recommend enough. Will definitely be returning. Compliments and huge thanks to the Chef.

4 of us ate here last night. Waitress service and food were excellent. Superb value for money, food was very well cooked and plentiful. Very pleasant atmosphere, would thoroughly recommend The Lion. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

Such a good night here. Lots of Christmassy touches and an organised Christmas menu and theme. Every table was clean and was laid with crackers. There are specials and desserts boards dotted around the pub so you can have a look while you are seated. The food was extremely well priced and delicious. Large portions so you will definitely be leaving here with a full stomach.Clean loo facilities. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Easy ordering and not long a wait for food.

The last meal I had it was amazing would highly recommend but I then booked up for my family to have a Christmas party meal here and it was totally different to the first time.the food wasn't nice at all.we had the Christmas turkey meal and it was awful.we all left 3/4 of it.some of the food was under cooked(pigs in blankets, parsnips, veg, stuffing)and had a funny taste.the turkey had an odd taste I think it was from a turkey roll because it didn't even look like turkey and the potatoes were dry and powdery inside and there was a measly splash of gravy.the only thing that was hot were the plates.! My mum had the Eton mess for dessert and that was defrosted frozen black currants and cherries and a very sad looking sloppy strawberry with a dollop of cream one top with about a teaspoon of meringue....not the Eton mess I know.! The staff were friendly except one who obviously believes smiles are not for sharing and service was slow considering we were first in and first to be served. Such a disappointing evening and will not be going back.

Three of us had an evening meal on Tuesday, we were met and shown to our table by a friendly waitress, there was a warming real log fire which added to the ambiance, drinks and food were ordered and after a few minutes we had delicious steak pie and porchetta with accompanying veg placed in front of us, everything got eaten, dessert was Eton mess and banoffee pie, again nothing but the pattern on the plate left. Portions were generous, food was superb and service faultless. We will definitely be going back.

Great evening at the Lion last night. Booked for the steak evening & 3 courses for £16 is an absolute bargain. Duck salad starter with cashew nuts was lovely steak cooked to your liking along with a mountain of fries & a sauce alone was worth the money but the bonus on top was a trio of deserts which were excellent. The regular menu also looked very appealing & would certainly recommend them.Good range of beers & ales along with a good wine list. If there's any chance of moving the pub 175 miles north to Worcestershire please let me know & we would be regulars!!
