Fabulous pub, great choice of Ales and Cider. Staff very friendly, cheerful and helpful. Food was out of this world.

Great Sunday lunch, both beef and turkey were order by 6 of us. Good amount of meat, vegetables and gravy, all full of flavour.

The phrase 'top country pub' doesn't do the Wilkes Head justice. I love this pub. They always have a selection of decent real ales, in good condition. Friendly atmosphere, you might even get a seat by the massive ancient fireplace. This is a pub with character and history. When you walk through the door, you can imagine yourself walking in the footsteps of Oliver Cromwell's soldiers. If you're the last one there of an evening you can practically hear the hobnail boots on the huge, timeless flagstones on the floor of the bar. This pub ought to be declared holy ground and protected by a special division of UNESCO set up specifically for that sole purpose. God bless the Wilkes Head and all that live, work and drink in her.

At the time of my visit there was no food available Sunday Monday and Tuesday

What a splendid pub this is. Tucked away from main roads means that this is not in any way touristy which adds to its charm.Everyone was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The menu is limited but this should not discourage as the pizzas and cheesy garlic bread that we had were superb and filling.

Popped in here today after a day out at RAF Tangmere. What a brilliant pub, locals having a pint chatting about their week. A lovely friendly hostess made us very welcome. A cider, an ale and a lager, just great. We had a well tasty lunch, reasonably priced all served with a smile. We should support pubs like this, the locals are so lucky to have it. Highly recommended. Love it.

Really friendly staff, reasonably priced and decent selection of beer on draught, including quite a few nice ales. Smallish inside but super warm especially in winter by the fire. They also have a a marquee and some sheltered outside areas along with a beer garden. In the warmer months, kids are welcome to play outside on the slide and garden. Ample parking area. Great athmosphere overall too.

This is a real gem of a pub! Fabulous selection of beers, friendly staff, lovely surroundings and dog friendly. Simple and traditional food done really well.
