Catch in Ashford

I never knew this place existed until I see a post online saying it was rated one of the best fish and chip shops, sorry but i have to disagree.No vegetarian options i can get over that so went for chips, chips only come in one Portion size, ok, but the chips I had were all scraps, some people like that i personally don't, not one fresh chip, but my partner had all fresh chips in the same order. Bare in mind this was a Saturday early afternoon. They nearly forgot to put in part of the order and had to be reminded.Don't rate it being one of the best, I have eaten at one of the best in kent which is papas barn in maidstone, the quality every time never fails. Was disappointed to be honest.Reply to the owners Comment,Firstly that email address don't exist my email bounced back. When asked for a vegetarian burger my partner was told you don't do any vegetarian options. As for the chips only one portion size which was on the menu board at £2.50 and we was told and my chips were scraps and my partners were fresh but ordered in the same order. It doesn't matter because we won't be returning !

Service wasnt great to be honest and its not like they was busy at this point, i was never asked wether i wanted salt and vinegar on my order.... The chips i could only describe as tasting stale and cold and my savaloy was warm on the outside by freezing in the middle!

Great chip shop real value for money and fantastic fish and chips

The fish and chips here is much better in our experience generally than Marino's in beaver Road. It would be nice if they offered a option of coleslaw. The staff are really really good. Yes it's a good place I would recommend it.

We have had a delivery twice before and the meals were lovely. Just had our third and the chips were dry, wrinkled and hard on the ends. We ordered large and had to pick through them to get some decent ones.Scampi was nice and portions great but the chips are a main addition to the meal so disappointed.

The food is usually lovely and fresh but things are a bit chaotic during busy periods and customers are usually a bit confused as to whether to ask for their order if the order was made online or to go back in to stand in the queue? Its all a bit confusing... Then it's frustrating when you eventually decide to stand in the queue even if you have placed an online order only for the staff to grab your food from the warmer!But as I said the food is always good 👍🏽

First time customer; found Catch by web search. Due to Covid did a click and collect order which was easy to complete. The highlight was the gluten free options (availability on the website). Food was delicious, very tasty said the kids, and excellent quantities. Good service and Covid management in the store; currently no more than 5 people with face coverings, and wait outside till you are called to collect your meal.

My Wife and I visit this Fish & Chippy normally midweek and fortnightly. It’s really clean and comfortable, we use the “Eat in” part where there is really fast service and the food is so fresh. We do pass quite a few other Fish & Chip shops to get to “Catch” but it’s always been worthwhile to drive that bit further.If you read the message boards behind the Counter you will discover what days are “Special” such as Gluten free, OAP etc. And it’s the only Shop that actually tells you about the Boat that has supplied all the fish etc used in the shop and the areas that they use to ply their Nets. I cannot recommend a better chippy.

Best fish and chips ever. 3 years of going there and never a bad chip let alone a fish or anything else. Incredible place. If I could afford it id go every night or more. Amazing place.
