Marino's Fish Bar Beaver Road in Ashford

Lovely food but I was kept waiting too long for it at the shop today. Others were going in after me and walking out with their orders straightaway while I was still sitting there. And the annoying thing was the shop was empty when I walked in. And even after the long wait I had, the food was cold when I got home which is a 5 minute drive away. So I had to heat it in up the microwave

I stopped off as first impressions were good.Unfortunately the chips were arwful and hard. Been sitting too long and not cooked fresh/to order.I see they offer a Greek menu. The risk with extending a menu especially with something moving in a total direction is you lose focus of the original concept. FISH AND CHIPS.This seems to be the case certainly. Fish over cooked and oil in need of changing desperately. You know because you get that tang in your mouth.Sadly I would not use again. I want good fish and chips with no distractions.

2 hour wait for an Uber delivery. Had to chase up on the phone. No apology just told they were busy and they didn’t have a driver to deliver. Food was really below what i had expected from them. Used to be really tasty but was awful tonight.

DO NOT USE THEIR WEBSITE!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!Just to clarify - I visited the Marino's Fish Bar website and placed an online order. At no point in the process was it made clear on the ordering screen that the order would default to Beaver Road and not Kennington.The location of the order was not made clear in either the ordering process or when selecting delivery or collection.There is no place on the website that indicates the shop and a customer not being aware of there being multiple shops would be unaware of where the order would be sent.Whilst it is the customers responsibility to check the order, it is impossible for the customer to know if the ordering process does not make it clear.Having had a reply from the owner the only place that indicates the location for collection is the confirmation email, after which the order has been confirmed. Why would the process not ask a customer to clarify the location for collection rather than assume they are ordering from Beaver Road.I arrived at Kennington to collect my order, only to be told that the order was ready and waiting at the Beaver Road branch.The website did not provide any indication that I had ordered from the Beaver Road branch. The man behind the counter just told me I had ordered via Just Eat and must have ordered from the wrong branch. Neither of which were true.I explained I was unhappy and he just repeated all they could do was have me collect my order at Beaver Road.I then had to drive to the Beaver Road branch to collect my order. On arrival the food was not prepared or ready to collect. I waited another 20 minutes for them to prepare the order. This added another 15 minutes onto my drive home.This error caused me to have to make over an hour's round trip.The Kennington branch could have resolved the issue by offering to make the food there rather than have me drive across Ashford. No apology offered from either branch and an incredibly poor online ordering system. Very poor customer service all round.I have been told that I should have raised the issue at the time. I did raise the issue and the young man working at Kennington simply told me to go and collect at Beaver Road.I told him I was unhappy at the time and he said there was nothing they could do.Since then I have been contacted and criticised by the owners for not raising the issue at the time, when clearly I did. On that basis they have firmly lost my custom.Sometimes businesses make mistakes, especially on busy, stormy Friday evenings. But it is THEIR responsibility to resolve customer complaints at the time of them being raised rather than pass the problem back to the customer.If the member of staff felt they could not deal with the complaint then maybe they should have escalated it to a manager.

Good vegetarian and gluten free options, always had good quality food. The gyros are incredible.

Best fish and chips around and you can buy a beer with it too! Love it

Member of staff being abusive.Like lots of people getting boosters early morning, before 9am as doctors at Musgrove next door have been kind enough to open early.Guy with red car wants to start beeping horn and being abusive to other person as I was getting child out of car.When I passed the place early last week there were cars parked all over Marino's entrance and only seem be 1 or 2 actually in the business and the rest obviously going to doctors next door.At 8:45 and shop doesn't open for another 3 hours.if it is that huge of a problem, fence off an area for staff parking, before closing up the night before.Wont be getting my business any time soon again,Fish inn up Brookfield Road is going to benefit.

Excellent chippy. Top tier chips, fresh and crisp even after delivery. Greek food is amazing and reminds me of holiday memories. Never had an experience less than 5/5 here.

10 stars , if it was possible to give. AMAZING gyros, the taste of Greece. The yogurt its original greek, as I haven't come across to something like this in England before. Definitely we will order again. Pleasently surprised by the packaging and the service.

We’ve been going back to Marino’s recently and the chips are amazing! I also saw on the app that they offer Greek food so after seeing the picture of the SKEPASTI which is basically a shredded pork (like donner meat) gyros between two flat breads with cheese and chips , tomato and tzatziki. Only ate half as it’s so big! The flat bread was amazing and I haven’t eaten Greek food this good since Rhodes! The chips are enough for one person and lovely with herbs and paprika. I will be ordering again and glad I tried this.
