Pukka Fish & Chips in Ashford

Easy parking outside the shop. Took absolutely ages to cook my order but worth the wait. Chips were fried in a beef fat dripping from the taste.The saveloy s are the soft and squishy type, the wife prefers that sort, I don't.Sausage and batter good. Sausage is not herby thank goodness.

Always great food. Fish is cooked to perfection. Chips delicious too Definitely recommend them .

Very badFirst time tonight getting food from here after seeing good reviews .But I wish I never did.My food tasted like it had been cooking in burger fat.there was a weird flame grilled taste to it allVery very greasy. Took ages to cook. Flat piece of cod. Wayyyyyyy too much salt on chips had to be thrown.Ended up eating my daughters left over cold happy meal which was more enjoyable.Won't return

Use this fish and chip shop a lot. Cooked fresh and tasty. Would recommend

Really good chippy, food was excellent- well cooked and tasty. Prices were very good and surprisingly cheaper than anticipated. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend.

I ordered fish, chips and a pie. When I ordered, I clearly requested that each item be packed separately as my wife doesn't eat fish.The person who started packing it, placed the fish on top of the chips. As this wasn't the same person who took my order, I understand they may have not been informed. I politely informed them that I had requested everything be packed separately. The fish was taken off and then replaced with the pie. I stated again that I had literally just asked for all items to packed separately. At this point, the carry bag was rudely handed to me without even putting the last item in the carry bag.I have given 2 stars because we were quite pleased the first time we went there.I, however, won't be visiting there again though.

Delish great service and reasonably priced. The portion of fish was huge as was the regular chips would have been enough 2. Will definitely use again

Highly disappointing.Portions have become smaller and smaller, but they are not reflected in the prices. They stay as they are.Today I decided to try once more. Got even smaller and I felt it needed to be challenged. Totally shocked by the rude bosses reply.He did not deny they had got smaller infact he said that they have deliberately started to give smaller portions and that the prices have remained the same.Tottally buffled by his response I said that that is not quite how it works and that his sly tactics will catch up with him.Greed as clearly got the better of him. After this experience it is the last straw for me. Will not go again and do not reccomend.He did not even give locals a discount through the pandemic when he was open pretty much all the way through bar one month and we were all locked down.Staff looked scared and do not even say boo to a goose.

Tried all the fish shops in Ashford except the new one in town but this is definitely the best. Very very long wait though of 45 mins. Apparently you have to call the order ahead. Not fun standing in the cold waiting. Also I wish the fish was slightly larger.
