We went here for lunch, we opened a tab and my husband gave his card over, which they kept safe behind the bar, we had a lovely lunch, which I cannot fault and the service was good, when we wanted to settle our bill, one of the barstaff came out with a card reader and our bill, she tapped the amount into the reader, she held the reader in front of her and asked my husband to tap the end of the reader, which he did and we left, it was not until he was on our bank site that he noticed that the amount paid was around £6 more than our bill receipt, so he phoned them up to ask why, he was told we had paid a tip to the staff even though we had not been asked if we would like to give one, when he told the person on the phone that we were never asked or given the opportunity if we wanted to give a tip it was just put on without our knowledge, they did not care, this has put us off ever going to this pub again which is a shame as the food was nice

It always nice when a product or a service exceeds exception, for the first time since COVID we took my wheel chair bound 91 YO mum-in-law out to the Chequers on the Green for a Easter Sunday lunch. Despite being CRAZY busy, the staff and the landlady could not have been more attentive. And to top it all, the food was exceptional. Thank you Chequers folks, mum was buzzing, she’s already planning our next visit

Really nice Sunday lunch. Service really good and attentive and food lovely. Nice range of drinks too. Recommend fully

Booked last minute for the carvery!Epic - best carvery for miles. Succulent rare beef and moist tasty lamb - husband had beef and pork with lots of crackling. Potatoes were soft fluffy and crunch! Loads of veg choice all very tasty. Staff were all so friendly and attentive. Really cosy decor. Busy and buzzing. We will definitely be back. Thank you

My husband and myself enjoyed a lovely burger lunch, in a warm and inviting pub. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. We were just walk ins on dull murky day but this pub lifted our spirits

The food was amazing. Best fillet steak and chips I've ever eaten. Really friendly staff. There was a small fire burning away as we ate our meal which made it super cosy. It was rather quiet for a Thursday night so there was huge amounts of parking. 5* pub meal experience. Would definitely come again when I next visit the area.

We had a great meal at this restaurant. Food was good and service quick but not rushed. The young staff serving were cheerful & helpful as was everyone. You weren't rushed to leave and the table was yours for the evening. Certainly worth a visit.

Very tasty food. Highly recommend the 12oz burger with cheese and bacon included in the same price. Mmm.

Amazing food! And the staff were all lovely and were very attentive even though it was a very busy lunchtime for them. Everyone was distanced and it felt like a very safe environment! Well done to the management and staff for making it such an enjoyable meal out.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat one lunchtime. Well organised (covid rules), as we were shown to our table. A huge menu with some great options. We had a brie and bacon sandwich and a steak baguette. Both were excellent. Would recommend a visit here. Easy parking aswell.
