A nice pub with very friendly staff !!But: very old, needs painting/modernization ( especially the bathroom) and definitely more cleaning (bathroom/table). There wasn't even soap. There was kind of moss at the water tap.and mold in the bathroom. I personally had problems with a certain smell ( old Tudor house or from.cleaning, I can't tell).I know it's an old house, but a 4 star hotel needs more caring.Bed linen and towels were clean and the bed comfy. The area is very quiet. The breakfast wasn't good, not even normal coffee (Nescafe only).Ok for a stay for one night.

Sunday lunch for 6. It was a lovely pub and restaurant area. Friendly staff. Food was tasty, although we had to wait for a missed food order

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful location, good value menu, staff very attentive without being intrusive. The food was plentiful and terrific quality. Highly recommeded.

Cute small local pub - service was good, but food really fell short of the 4.5 stars they have on here. The vegetables with our dishes were boiled and not seasoned. The bread/olives and oil starter we received was Kingsmill sliced white bread (wish we’d taken a picture). Chicken and Thyme had no flavor at all.The chicken pie was really good. And we paid £50 for the lunch. Would not recommend.

Reserved a table for lunch. Everyone really enjoyed their food, with a cracking fireplace going. Staff were very attentive too. What more could you want.

After hearing good things about the pub, we had high expectations. We had a hunters chicken and prawn tagliatelle..the hunter chicken was burnt on the bottom and didn’t have a lot of sauce..the chips were lovely although myself having the prawn tagliatelle it was swimming in oil and was completely tasteless the garlic bread was burnt and couldn’t eat it at all. I wouldn’t recommend but if your just coming for a drink the garden is lovely just wouldn’t recommend the food.

Firstly, all of the staff are brilliant, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious with an extensive vegan offering. Beautiful surroundings, board games and welcoming locals. 10/10.

If you are ever in Ashford you should definitely stop this plate for a pint and a plate! Had one of the best steak and ale pies of my life. Great service too.
