Great service, great customer service and great food, our dog also enjoyed being made a fuss of.

Went into the Lemon tree yesterday around 13:00 for lunch as we have in before when visiting the area.Checked the offerings outside and there was roast dinner offered.Shown to a table and having viewed the menu decided on the roast. On enquiring about what meat was available we were quite abruptly told that all the roast was gone? at 13:00 on a Wednesday which I would have thought one of their busier days.On querying the availabilty when it was clearly still being offered we were told"there is only one joint and when it's gone that's it".This seems to me to be poor forwarded planning when they must have some experience of turnover. Also cannot understand this practice from part of an industry that is complaining of poor turnover

We were a large party so we booked. We arrived at the agreed time but felt under pressure to order before the kitchen closed. However the food arrived promptly and the cream tea some of us had was very good.

Food is OK. English breakfast comes out suspiciously quickly, but tastes fine. Coffee not very hot when served.Service from waiter/manager is poor, rude and rushed. Not sure they actually want customers.Service fron waitresses is excellent.

The staff are warm and friendly and welcoming. The food is good home-cooked style. The meals are a little pricey for the presentation and type of food. Locals can take advantage of a 10% discount each time.

If you are looking for a traditional tearoom atmosphere, then this is the place to visit. Hot meals also available. We live in Dover, and often visit Tenterden for a pleasant rural drive. We do not consider anywhere else to either have a main lunch or morning coffee. The tearoom / restaurant is divided into three small rooms. It is located in a 16th century building with timber and plaster walls. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food choice is varied, good and wholesome. Prices are reasonable. Washrooms well presented. Car park just a few minutes away. Fee payable. If you live in the TN postcode area, then you can sign up for a 10% discount card.

Environment:Really cosy and warm feel. Spacious but not empty, and certainly not crowded. The restaurant is not cold or hot but is instead a nice cosy warm - just right for a relaxing hour or two.Wait times:Very reasonable for the quality of the food being prepared. Approximately 10 minutes for a starter and 15/20 for the main. Personally feel like it’s the perfect time between starters and main coming out.Food quality:Amazing. The food is delicious, there is plenty but not so much you’ll end up overeating or leaving loads behind. Perfectly cooked too - nothing burned or undercooked and very well presented.Service:All of the staff were really friendly. Very polite, very helpful - couldn’t do more for you and everyone was attentive.Price:About £12 per meal roughly but hits the right spot perfectly in my view for quality and portion size for price. Desserts are a little pricey but nothing crazy as they are very big! About £7 or so per person depending on what you have.Overall this was the perfect experience for a lunch time meal out with the family who all agreed! Highly recommend.

We had lunch here and were pleasantly surprised with the historic atmosphere, fast and friendly service, and tasty (large) portion sizes.
