Friendly service, very reasonable prices and substantial portions of good food. Flashing fairy lights over the dining area were a little odd.

Delicious, home-cooked and freshly prepared Sunday lunch. A good range of vegetarian options and a good selection of traditional British puddings which are well worth trying. Friendly attentive service and all-round good value so we will definitely be back.

A great example of what an English country pub/restaurant should beMy girlfriend and I came across this pub restaurant a couple of years ago when we stopped for a drink. Since then we have been several times for lunch or a drink. Never disappointed.High quality food and drinksGood atmosphere especially when you can sit outside and watch the river flowGreat service from a really friendly, professional team.My only disappointed is that we don’t live near so we can go more often

It was definitely beyond my expectations. We went a weekday lunchtime and were probably going to settle for the usual pub grub. But hey, the Fish Pie turned all my senses upside down even as we barely entered. We were told it was new and must try. Glad we took the waitress on her recommendation. It was a maincourse for one but the bowl like platter was so huge that we could not finish it.We usually order in a pick and mix style when we eat out and this time we only ordered two starters and the fish pie as mains. It turned out that the starters were almost as big a portion as the main. We loved both the mushroom starter, and the really big kingprawns cooked beautifully in a salsa like sauce. If you like to sit around the fire thats in front of the bar in the middle, you should book ahead.

We had a family gathering of 20 on bank Holiday Monday. The staff were all so attentive and helpful. All our food came out hot and within minute's of each other. Food was really delicious, definitely recommend and we will be back.:) :) :)

A pleasant pub next to the Great Stour. We visited it on a busy Sunday afternoon when a live music was on and it was obvious this is a true "village pub" for the locals as well as for visitors . It is a must visit but make sure you book a table ahead if you want to dine.

Spent a Saturday afternoon here, eating good food, good beer and watching the river go by. Great chill out zone, little bit pricey but lovely day.

Perfect lunch in perfect location. Not been here for years but near my childhood home. So glad as food was amazing. Covid procedures in place so we felt safe... Masks indoors but you can order from an app from your table... Food came fast and really fresh... Service good too ❤️
