Great pub run by an old traditional style landlord ....NO food makes this what a pub should be and that's A PUB ..

Pub and staff very pleasant, and food good. Room was adequate but up a very steep, narrow staircase. Unfortunately, no breakfast was served, meaning an early start to find somewhere to eat before starting work (finished up eating in Rye as nowhere suitable opened early enough in Tenterden). Internet in the room was useless and unusable most of the time. Would happily use the pub and dining again but wouldn't use the accommodation again as it is not suitable for the business use I require

I visit Tenterden quite often and was looking forward to visiting this pub for beers and food. Unfortunately I never got the chance due to the odd opening hours. Closed all day Monday and doesn't open until the evening on other days. The website said it opened at noon on Friday, but when I got there it was closed. The sign by the door said it opened t four and a board on the pavement said five. I gave up and went to The Vine instead. I can never understand why a business has a website, but never updates it and leaves incorrect information on it.

Very welcoming and extremely helpful staff.Lovely room with everything we needed. Jacuzzi tub was a relaxing treat!Booked in for Thai night dinner and was definitely not disappointed! Chef went above and beyond to accommodate dietary requirements. We had a lovely stay and would stay again.

A delightful old pub which served good food. The staff were really friendly and made you feel very welcome. We will definitely be back.

Clean, comfortable. John the landlord Was so helpful and accommodating- gave us a lift to pick up our car in the morning. The pub staff too were friendly and the Thai food was excellent. Definitely recommend if you need a place to stay in Tenterden.

We came across this pub when one of the other high street pubs weren't that welcoming. The landlord was polite, friendly and welcoming. This place is also dog friendly which is a bonus. The food was excellent and good value. We look forward to coming again when we next come over on K&ES railway.

One of my favorite places to eat and have a drink. (I haven't rented a room there yet). Very friendly people and good cider on tap.
