Aeglesburgh at the Watermead Inn in Aylesbury Vale

wasn’t that busy maybe 3-4 tables in the restaurant. Waited at the front for 10 minutes before being told to just grab a menu and sit where we like (was a sign saying wait to be seated) there were 2 clean tables the rest had old plates and crockery on. Waited 30 minutes and no one had come over for a drinks order so we left. Wouldn’t recommend seems like more of a drinking pub than a dining place.

Love it here, great selection of food. Staff are great. Lovely date night setting. Definitely will be returning :) thank you.

Great pub/restaurant by the lake. Worth it

Quite disappointing, I'd heard good things about this pub, but alas it wasn't good yesterday.We were attending a funeral at the Crem down the road and planned to spend afterwards Eating and drinking in the Watermead Inn. First impressions wasn't good as the single member of staff was very grumpy and made it fairly obvious that we weren't welcome by grunting at us in response to our orders.The table we sat at had ketchup and brown sauce smeared over it, the chair I sat in had sweet wrappers, dust and hair down the back of the cushion. It obviously hadn't been Covid cleaned. We decided to drink up and leave, well I left a half of my pint of Aspalls as it felt a bit dirty.In fairness to the Single member of staff, I did see her attempt to clean a table with spray and a roll of blue paper, but no sooner had she got out from behind the bar someone else needed serving and she had to return to her serving duties.She did shout out "thank you very much" to several customers whom were leaving the pub, but it was as if she was thankful that they were going rather than thanking them for their custom. Anyway she didn't thank us when we left, and I'd cleaned the table we sat at with wipes.So we ended up down the road at Horse and Jockey. 9 of us in the end. Fully staffed, clean, covid compliant, very friendly and accommodating. Just what you want after a sad day at the Crem

Was there for a party Saturday and the food was amazing and came so quickly the staff were very friendly and catered to all our needs 10/10 and would definitely eat here again.

Our party of 12 have just enjoyed a Boxing Day dinner. The level of service was exceptional and the food was really delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitresses. Thank you. Happy Xmas

The pub as been refurbished since I was last in there. Lovely and clean airy plenty of daylight. Staff very polite and very help full. Nice friendly family pub. Kids can feed the ducks and swans out side. Good place to go.

Re-visited in memory of our dad, they did him proud on his final farewell last year & we wanted to go back & raise a glass to him & take some time to reflect in what we think is a place he would have loved... lovely food & friendly staff, 100% recommended, be it for a function or for a meal & drinks in a peaceful & lovely setting

Delicious food, great atmosphere, live music and friendly staff. Oh, and gorgeous views! So lucky to have this place so close to home 😊

This place has a great view from the restaurant. Good place to go in groups and to enjoy food with nice lake view!
