It was our 2 colleagues birthday celebrations. I have enjoyed my time with my lovely work colleagues. The food was excellent and the drink and atmosphere was lovely too.

Have been to this pub previously and found it to be generally good. Unfortunately when we went there this time, the experience was spoiled somewhat.When my daughters food came, it had hair on the plate. It was re-plated. When we got the bill, we found we had been charged for a double even though my wife had explicitly asked for a single G&T. When we queried, the waitress (different from the one who took our order) came back to say she had been told that we had asked for a double. As we had had a long day and were somewhat tired, we could not be bothered to challenge. But it spoiled the evening somewhat.Its still an OK pub (previously I would have said Good) and am not advocating not going to it. However I recommend you double check your order and the bill when it comes.

Came in for lunch a week or so ago with my partner and we ordered a chicken burger, beef burger, chips and also went for the pork crackling. The pork crackling was the worst I’ve ever had. It not only smelt and tasted really bad, but was also still a bit hairy. Both burgers and chips tasted like it had all been deep fried in 3 year old oil. We paid over £50 for 2 burgers 2 chips 2 drinks and the crackling. I had a few bites of my burger and some chips, but had to then leave the majority of my food, as it was genuinely making me feel Ill & it left me feeling greasier than a Mcds fryer. I passed on my thoughts to the waitress who said she’d let the chef know and even after her taking near enough my whole plate full of food back, not even an apology was given. Just to clarify, this is also the FIRST time I’ve ever taken the time out to write a review being 30 years old.

Staff were accomodating after a miss communication in our large booking. We found the menu to be quite limited, even when we were shown the full online menu.The food was very tasty but portion sizes weren't great.I had the steak burger. It was just a burger and not very big. The chips that came with it were large in size but not in portion.Chip score of 6/10.Desserts were very good. We enjoyed the brownie and the rocky road. Quite expensive.Not very good value for money

Went for a Christmas bbrunch with friends. Food was excellent and staff were wonderfully warm and attentive. Atmosphere was festive. Might be our new brunch spot!

We didn't stay here, wish we had. Food was exceptional and the lovely staff who made us so welcome, I had chicken and sundried tomatoes it was beautifully presented and so full of taste. my colleague had lamb crusted culets which he said were amazing. Lovely wood burner and really nice atmosphere ....wished i lived near by

Exceptional food, super friendly staff members, always fantastic character. They charge reasonable pricing and the food quality is awesome. I recommend this place.

Fantastic food and service. After having some truly terrible food during our trip away, we found this restaurant and hoped that it would be better. We were not disappointed at all. The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly, good sized portions and really tasty, the chef clearly knows what he's doing and his dishes were delicious. We loved it so much, we came back for a second meal before going home. The staff were friendly and remembered us. The atmosphere was comfortable and homely. Absolutely love this place!

We stayed here recently as we were in town attending an event at the Waterside theatre. We booked a room, and we’re given the Black and Cream room when I requested a quiet room. The room is small but cosy and the bed was really comfortable. The bath/shower was excellent too.The pub itself is lovely with a good selection of beers and cocktails. The food coming out of the kitchen looked good too, although we didn’t eat here. The beer garden is very large and there was a huge marquee with lots of comfy seating.The best thing, however, was the staff themselves. Every member of staff we spoke to was so friendly and polite and helpful, from the folks behind the bar to the chap serving us our delicious breakfast in the morning.I don’t know if or when we’ll be in Aylesbury again but if we ever do attend another event at the theatre we’d definitely stay here again.

Been for a couple of meals here recently and both have been really nice. Lots of tables outside and dog friendly. You order food via an app which was very efficient. Beers lean towards lagers and ciders rather than ales, but usually a couple of hand pulls. Car park is small and tight but you can park nearby.
