Delicious and rich food in a beautiful dining room. The focaccia is the best I've ever tasted, soft, fluffy, and so flavorful! We'll definitely visit this restaurant again.

I went to this place 3 or 4 years ago and we just got totally ignored so we left. My parents bought me a £100 voucher and so yesterday we went along to the in the hope of better service. I booked online for 2.30pm. When we arrived the gentleman with the glasses (I think he is the owner) and horrible attitude was behind the bar and scowled at us!! It was so shocking. He said he would go and see if his chef was still there!! I mentioned that we had booked a table so we were kind of expecting a chef at least....he absolutely scowled at us and went off to the kitchen. About 2 minutes later he called to us from the restaurant and reluctantly said we could have a table and to get our order in quick as the chef wanted to leave. It was absolutely outrageous. I have never known such rudeness. I sold the voucher for less than it's value and warned the purchasers that they might have to deal with the worst possible service from the owner of all people. He must be the owner...no one in hospitalitywould employ him. Awful. .I have only given a star because you can't submit the post otherwise. No stars at all. Minus one million on the star front!!

The food was pretty good. The venison, delicious, but it was served with a tiny amount of rocket and Parmesan, so it was basically just a huge piece of venison for my main. The waiter was very grumpy, which was uncomfortable.

Just okay, never been there before. Over hyped by people I know. Nothing special and the food was average also the man who welcomes you into the restaurant (not sure if he was the manager) needs some people skills, not very friendly and didn't make you feel welcome at all. This is all just my opinion

Very good food, but felt the staff could have been a bit more friendly, they were not discourteous but didn't make any conversation, worth going for the food.

Today was our second visit in two weekends in a row...we had read previous reviews of terrible customer service and how it is renowned for the staff being rude...but we bit the bullet to try it as we were looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate a birthday with our family.Last week, the two Italian waiters were not overall friendly, short & unwelcoming but we just put it down to a cultural difference (similar to Chinatown where you know staff are rude but they mean no malice). However this week we were greeted with blank expressions even though we were smiling and were excited to be back.My husband tried to talk to the older member of staff to understand why he was short and rushed with us and he blatantly told him that "he did not enjoy serving us!" and told us to "f@&k off".The main role of these gentleman waiters is to be customer facing & serve customers. These staff need to be retrained & reminded of their role OR be redeployed to a back office capacity.Extreme, unashamed arroganceSHOCKING!!! INSULTING!!! OUTRAGEOUS!!!Please don't take our word for it, discover it for yourself and have your day ruined OR avoid insult, rudeness and go elsewhere.

My Wife and I went for a drive. We passed this place - and noticed the triclore Italian flag in the lettering. It is ages since we have been to a restaurant, let alone an Italian one, but we love Italian food, so we decided to "Give it a Go"I Hope this review will get others to try it. It Is Fantastic. The Aperol Spritz took us right back to memories of Venice. Really nice.I Had Veal Milanese and My Wife chose a Fillet "Canaletto"Oh My Word! - The food was Magnificent. The restaurant started to get quite busy with celebrations and bookings, but we were looked after, even in the rush.Go There! - Its Great

Had a great dinner at Canaletto, loved every part of it.All areas of the venue were comfortable and well styled, you can tell real thought has been put into all the details. In these times the hygiene standards also seemed very reassuring, everything was clean and hand sanitiser provided in various areas.Staff were all very welcoming and helpful to their guests and each other. Knowledgeable about their menu and providing great recommendations and laughs at the tables.Food - amazing. Great choice of different dishes for all types of dinner, and so well presented, served and tasting. We had three courses and portions all generous and delicious. Can't say enough about this great restaurant. I can't believe we hadn't been before but will definitely be back again.Thank you to the Canaletto team for a perfect evening.

Good food quality. Lovely ambience with nice music playing in the background. It is a bit pricey like for Italian restaurant in this location £££We enjoyed our three course meal. As far as menu choices it is quite standard nothing surprising or unique which is a bit disappointing, again like in typical Italian restaurant. But food is cooked well and is good quality and very tasty! My steak was cooked perfectly! Thanks

A beautiful cottage style restaurant serving tasty italian fusion dishes. Visited Canaletto for dinner today and found a seat immediately even after we've walked in without a reservation. The staff were very nice and courteous, the food was tasty and the pricing was reasonable. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
