Horse & Jockey in Aylesbury Vale

The Horse and Jockey is conveniently situated next door to the Premier Inn Aylesbury. We are staying at the Premier Inn so had a table booked at the H&J. Turned up slightly early which was no problem, our table was ready and the staff were very welcoming. A very good menu at very reasonable prices, with a great range of drinks. The food was served quickly and the service we received was fantastic. The drinks were super cold, and the desserts were great. A very friendly, well priced and comfortable atmosphere. Would definitely recommend, and will be back.

The could be a great pub if the staff cared more about serving customers with hot food then playing with the dog . One of the staff was alittle rude when taking are food order. Her attitude wasn't the best to some of the other staff .

Shambles. Tried to order food for my table the bar staff stated I couldn't eat in that area even though there was other tables with empty plates on them. I then asked if I could sit in the section that is serving food to which I was told we don't deal with food at the bar, rather than explaining to me to go and ask the front of house staff regarding a table I was greeted with a sharp, short response. After figuring out that I had to ask the front of house staff I was then informed that there was no available tables (there was 5 empty ones at the time) I thought fair enough I'll happily sit and have a drink and wait for a table. I asked how long a table would be response I received was "Don't know" I then asked if you could inform me when a table was free if I was sitting in the bar, again I was met with a short snappy response of no we are to busy. Will not be back unfortunately! I have visited multiple times in the past very disappointing.

Visited on Christmas eve. When I booked (online) I had to choose a menu, I selected the festive menu. When we arrived our waitress only gave us the main menu so asked for the festive menu too, she seemed confused but eventually brought us festive menus as well. The meals were ordered were nice. The katsu curry burger could have had more sauce however. Once we had finished our food we were then left for about 2 hours with no-one checking if we wanted anymore drinks etc. or the bill so we had to find someone to ask. Overall, the experience was fine. Would return.

Some of the nicest food I've ever had in a pub. I paid less than £15 for a 3 course meal after adding extras to my burger etc. Staff were incredible. You can take full advantage of their offer of a free drink for downloading their app.

The staff were so accommodating. And absolutely perfect in all of their endeavours, when asked. Regardless of complaints, the team were exceptional in dealing with any minor issue. We love Harry! And the bar staff were so polite and courteous. Five stars to all!

I went into the Horse and Jockey not too long ago for the first time and would recommend. I did not eat here, but I can say the drinks were fairly priced. There is a large Garden which is quiet and has plenty of tables and the ability for larger groups to sit together. Inside is slightly cramped, but this is no fault of anyone and is down to the way the pub was built, now some years ago, there are still a very good number of tables available if you would to sit indoors and the interior is modern and well lit. The staff were really friendly and helpful providing quick service and offered to bring drinks to our table outside when we came to the bar for service. I would definitely recommend and will be back!

very warm welcome from Harry and his team Harry is the new landlord of the horse and jokey and the food is fantastic a lot better then 10 mouth ago we here last. Cheers Harry
