Simple pub food that tastes decent, has some specials that rotate and arrives quickly. A wide (albeit mostly chain) selection of beers. Have updated my review as they responded in a constructive way which I rate.

Had 3 courses. Starter was good. That was the highlight. Both our mains were poor, my chips were stone cold, garlic bread rock solid. My partners fish was completely burnt. The sticky toffee pudding deserts both turned up cold. All 3 courses took a total of 2 hours and we witnessed staff arguing with each other in the restaurant. Got told this was due to the pub being busy. They gave us 20% off the bill and the desserts for free as an apology. Wouldn’t recommend or go again. Very poor.

Nice pub, fairly decent food though a bit dry in places. Served by a wonderful server named Max, kind, attentive and evidently a hard worker. Unfortunately one of his colleagues was quite abrupt/rude towards him. Not overly professional and not a way to keep hold of good staff.

Very large portions which can seem great but it was way too much. And the food was cold. If the food was warm it would have been great. Staff seemed friendly at first but appeared annoyed when we informed of a dessert order mistake. Overall would not visit again.

Long wait, no one seemed to know what was going on. Drinks ordered, wait, food ordered, wait, we waited, then what would we like for dessert, mains hadn't arrived at this point. When they came it said lashings of gravy, well a dot was more like it so we had to ask for more, wait, food getting cold. Cauliflower cheese was forgotten, we had to ask, wait, food getting colder. No cranberry sauce either. Very disappointed as The Shire Horse at Maidenhead, fantastic. Please don't say you where busy, if you can't cope, don't allow bookings

A lovely pub with a fairly decent menu, we were there for my dads birthday and the staff were very nice.My sisters hake dish didn’t come with enough of the advertised chowder so it was too dry to eat but everything else was fine

Great dog-friendly pub. Great service with lots of friendly helpful staff. We came as a family and a dog, we were treated well and had a great dining area next to the fire. The food was hearty and not expensive.Large selection of drinks.I will come back just to eat the oversized Yorkshire Pudding which resembled a boat & were clearly made onsite.Thank you staff.

Very friendly efficient & helpful staff. We were a big party booking and everything went very smoothly for Sunday Lunch.Food was lovely: especially the sea bass ✔Only neg feedback was the small size of the portions of gravy rather than the "lashings" mentioned on the menu.

Delicious roast dinner, quick service, great option of food and drinks. Overall very good experience. Only thing to note was the barman seemed to be quite rude to other staff making it feel a little awkward at times.
