popped in for a few pints with the missus. The managers and staff were professional and lovely. Will be driving down from London again to get food after trying a few nibbles. 5 stars!

Delicious food with clever flavours and exquisite presentation, all complemented by delightfully friendly and attentive service.

How on Earth this place has two rosettes I will never know. The roast beef was so salty it was almost inedible, potatoes dry and tasteless and served with the most miserable limp over-cooked tasteless cabbage. Chips were so over cooked they were almost burnt and service was mediocre at best. The wait between courses was ridiculously long and for somewhere that has neither good food nor service I found their pretentious attitude amusing at best. For the price they charge we expected something that tasted nice and was cooked well at the very least. . Sorry excuse for a chef

At first, we were looked at with disgust and when our party did not arrive on time we were made to feel as though we were wasting their time. We were then rushed to order being told that the kitchen closes in an hour something which was not mentioned when we made the booking. We asked to sit outside because the weather was nice, made to sit on tables full of dust even the cutlery placed on the dusty tables. Out of politeness tried to engage the owner of the restaurant in conversation but he was only giving one-word answers, walking away and rude. But to our surprise the table next to us had white people sitting there and he stood there for a good 10 to 15 mins chatting with those people. We had gone there to spend our money which we did because we ended up spending just over £500 for our party. This was all because we are black, how racist. The food itself was very disappointing.

We came for dinner at Chequers a couple of weeks ago and had the tasting menu with wine pairing. We were absolutely blown away, ther quality of the food was up there with some of the best restaurants we've been to around the world, and the service was exemplary. This place is an absolute gem, and should feature on the hit list of any foodies out there!

Delighted to find this restaurant. Delicious food, well thought out menu and superb quality ingredients. Reasonable value. I look forward to coming back soon.

I recently dined at The Chequers which was a very enjoyable experience. Having visited a number of times some years ago, I had only dined once under the current chef and management until this visit. There was good service and delicious food on our very reasonably priced Tasting Menu, my friend had the vegan version and we were both very impressed. We had an interesting talk with Chef whose skills are commendable and I am looking forward to my next visit. I highly recommend you visit.

We had the absolutely fabulous Vegetarian tasting menu for dinner last night. Every single course was a delight and the waiting staff were really lovely too! We will definitely be back!
