The Old Swan Cheddington in Aylesbury Vale

Great experience on our last visit. Not sure what went wrong this time. Chaotic service. Wrong main course brought for one of our party. Second drink never arrived. Had to keep asking for water. I heard later the chef was off sick . Maybe that threw things.

Sister and I had a delicious Sunday lunch here today. The staff are so lovely. All wearing big smiles and eager to please. The food is simply sumptuous. I had chicken supreme while my sister had roast lamb, both mouthwatering. The vegetables too were perfect and as for the puddings; well we had to have one each. Sister had white chocolate cheesecake and I had pineapple and rum sponge with rum and raisin ice cream. All beautifully presented. We will definitely be making another booking soon.

We have dogs. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not in the restuarant. That's perfectly fair. The bad news is that this pub won't, under any circumstances, allow us to reserve a table in the bar area, meaning that we can't make plans to eat here or bring our friends. Such a shame, as this is a nice pub. They're shooting themselves in the foot with this inflexible attitude.

Good food, quick friendly service, good beer and nice pub inside.

Well food was fantastic for sunday lunch, great atmosphere, staff very friendly and accommodating. Plus on a personal note, had some great songs playing on the speaker system, all in all, will be back again when i can. Highly recommend 👌

Turned up for food and a pint, coincidentally the pub quiz was on. Staff were super accomodating, attentive. Quiz, which is on the last Wednesday of each month, was run by engaging host. (Advise booking)

First time at The Old Swan this week for a birthday lunch with my son and family, over from Boston MA, after 2.5 years away due to COVID. We found the pub was warm and welcoming. The staff were great with the kids. Food was delicious. The kids had fish and chips, adults had lamb hotpot, a burger and chicken supreme, all came hot and freshly cooked with lovely trimmings and good sized helpings. Shared some tasty desserts. Really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend and we will come again. 👍

Decided to treat my son to lunch on Wednesday had good reviews about this pub .I didn’t get round to booking a table but made our way down there, we arrived at 1.15 I went to the bar and asked if there was a table for 2 .I was told rather abruptly that they were fully booked.I looked around and saw there were at least three tables empty on the website it says that last bookings for lunch are are at 2pm but the Gentleman told me that they were all book . I pointed to one table and he said no it’s taken ! I then looked at bar area and saw a table empty and said what about that table ? He then said yes you can sit there but you might not be able to order food .... he would find out .At this point I really felt that he did not want our custom as they were to busy ,and that to be honest should he of not been more polite and more Accommodating?After sitting down he cleaned our table and said we needed to order at bar .When going to order at bar I asked him if he was ok and that he seemed rather stressed he said they were rather busy .All most immediately his attitude changed and from then on the service was great And the food was perfect .I told him it was my son birthday and he even brought out 2 slices of fudge brownie with a candle on with our coffee !I work with the public and own my own business and I feel that customer service “ even “when your busy should be very important !I could of walked out before I found my own table ..... and not experienced the good food . Please remember a good warm welcome and not a stressed welcome is important .

This is an a incredible pub, with incredible food and wonderful staff!! What a beauty 😉

The pub looks lovely , outside and inside indeed !! Old structure kept very well!For having dinner go there after 6pm!!Menu looks good, here some picsNice spot for a break!
