The Rockwood pub in Aylesbury Vale

Strong selection behind the bar; a little snug for my liking but an adequate garden to the rear and seating out front cater for this nicely.

Staff are clued up and friendly. Cleanest pub and toilets love the extra lady care things for if caught short. Very nice bar woman.

A fantastic old fashioned pub in the middle of Aylesbury. Brilliant staff giving a very welcoming feel and a warm atmosphere. Excellent food all served in a clinically clean environment. 11/10 to the staff and management.

A fantastic pub. The staff go above and beyond to put on several events monthly and are doing well to keep the Aylesbury music scene alive. They have a wide selection on draft and many different gins to try. They do a monthly open mic, pub quiz and often have DJs playing various genres of music, usually over the weekend. They also have a lovely outdoor area with heated areas and offer blankets that you can use outside. There's an 'outdoor indoor' section with a gorgeous mural and everywhere is pleasantly decorated. The pub is usually very tidy despite the fact that it can get quite cramped when it's busy but people are quite polite. I would recommend booking a table if you are planning on bringing a group of more than 4 with you especially for nights like the pub quiz. They also do a very nice selection of hot food which changes throughout the year, I would particularly recommend their burgers! There is a fireplace by the toilets and a cupboard with a wide selection of board games including classics like Scrabble and chess. All of the staff are very friendly and there is definitely a feeling of family between all of them, looks as though they look after each other and want the best for their customers. It is a busy and popular pub, prices are a little higher than other places (similar to The Kings Head and The Old Millwright Arms) but you genuinely get what you pay for, a fun and cosy pub with great atmosphere. ❤

Always pop in for a decent pint if I'm in AY of an evening. Great place

I was stuck in Aylesbury for months for work, forced to be with a whole array of absolute freaks. Every day I would get more and more wound up by having to be with and near them for hours on end. At one point, they came very close to frequenting this pub, and we would have to hide and create plans to avoid them. Dramatic? Perhaps. But, my only solace was this place. This was my sanctuary. Great staff, great place.

Dan and Emily have done a great job with The Rockwood! This is our local and is a wonderful town centre pub with a great selection of drinks; fresh, good quality food and lovely staff. Really lovely beer garden out back and there is seating out front if you want to watch the world go by. Our dogs, Max and Oscar, always have a lovely welcome - a scratch behind the ears and a couple of dog treats too! We’ve just bought a house in Wales and are gonna miss our local a lot!

Great pub. Warm welcoming atmosphere. Recommended. Best pub in AylesburySadly this pub has gone down hill in a big way. It is under new management who are clearly complacent about cleanliness and operating a character pub. Such a shame and it has detiorated so quickly!
