I was going to try this restaurant for the first time in Basingstoke today, but I won’t bother trying again. We waited at the door, a rude team member grunted “I’ll be with you in a minute” , when she finally turned around, I said a table for two please. She said “No” really abruptly they wasn’t taking any walking. If she had been polite I would of tried another day, but I won’t bother again.

Claire was our waitress this evening and really helped us have a chilled relaxing evening, I had dramas with a gift voucher but she dealt with us very calmly and genuinely wanted us to have a great night, which we did. Meal was flavourful and cocktails were tasty! Thanks again we will visit again soon 👌🏻😁

Served by Claire. She was aware we were going to the Sophie Ellis Bextor concert and provided a really prompt attentative service. Really pleasant and friendly. Food was great 👍 thanks Claire

I went to Ask Italian in Basingstoke yesterday with a few friends. The starter and the drinks were really good, however my pasta dish and another girls at my table unfortunately were quite bad (it happens!). Having worked in restaurants for many years and dealing with complaints all the time I didn't say anything to our server as she seemed busy and didn't want to bother her. When the bill came she took off mine and the other girls pasta dishes as she noticed we didn't eat them. The girl is petite with long braids, I just wanted to say thank you as that was a really nice gesture and her service was so good!!

Today my 5yr old son and myself went for an early lunch. All staff were very attentive, service was smooth and professional. Food was tasty, plentiful and freshly prepared. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Thank you to all the smiley hard working staff.

Always a good experience here, menus are updated regularly with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The drinks menu is also full of choice with complimentary drinks on most occasions on arrival.

Disappointing. It was empty and the waitress had to ask if myself and my daughter could eat in. The other woman working there said no. Excuse was that there is an issue in the kitchen. Would it be different if a bigger group or even 2 adults had wanted to eat there

Great service staff and delicious food, but not enough staff in the kitchen to serve the restaurant and large number of take away orders they are acceptingWaited over an hour for kids pizza as a result, which ruined the dining out experience. Prepare to give your child screen time whilst the restaurant chooses to prioritise take out.Such a shame given the food was lovely when it arrived and felt really bad for the lady serving us who was very attentive but could not do anything about it

Went on a busy Friday night and our main took quite a while to arrive, staff were very apologetic and when our food did arrive it was delicious. We didn’t complain and made no mention of it. We asked for the bill at the end and the waitress came over saying we had nothing to pay and the manager had put it through for free! Incredibly generous and not expected, free deserts or drinks would have been a really nice gesture but a free meal out was above and beyond. Will definitely go back not just because I feel a bit guilty not paying anything but also as the food was really good. Thank you

Amazing Italian food!! Portions good be a bit bigger, I left still leaving a little hungry but I had an enjoyable meal. The restaurant was totally empty when we went but I don’t know why because it was good. The staff brought us the wrong bill which is a bit frustrating, but it worked out in the end and they fixed their problem.Would definitely return
