Nice pub . Haven't been in for a while.Lots of scooters being ragged on a dyno.Some nice scooters apparently one got to 112 m.p.h.

Dj's in Basingstoke beware. I had a booking in place with Tracey the manager months ago at the Golden lion. I just rang up to confirm a karaoke for tomorrow night. Been informed, it's cancelled with no prior notice. Not the best way to run a business.

Great pub great atmosphere glad the two horrible blokes that run the fish and chips have gone. Tracy and geeza are doing a great job.

A bit chilly here, bar staff unfamiliar with the menu (maybe new?) and our order was slightly wrong but they provided 3 huge bowls of chips to compensate!

Huge improvements in decor and furniture. Very comfy and smart with helpful staff and new owners who introduced themselves last week. Only issue last night was they had problems with lagar delivery so no moretti😞

The Golden Lion did an amazing job of catering for my Mother's wake. They catered for 40 people at a very good price. There was a huge variety of different fare to cater for all tastes including a veggie choice. Everyone commented that the sandwiches were the best ever. They included a large cheese platter with biscuits, cakes etc. and tea and coffee. I cannot thank Kirt and the team enough for their service and care throughout, which made a difficult day bearable. Dreadful... food came out wrong and cold... asked for garlic bread and cheese only got garlic bread, asked if I could get cheese... they literally took the dish grated cheese and grilled in the exact same position so the bits on top had melted cheese, the rest had nothing... chips felt like they had been taken off someone else's plate stone cold soggy! Ordered 2 beers got 3... not a massive issue until you have to pay for the beer thats been sat in the sun for 15mins. Overall good for a quiet pint bad for anything else

Nice cold Fosters after a walk to town. Update Just been for a takeaway during these times and I have to say it was great 👍
